Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans has broken his silence after he cancelled his appearance on spin-off show It Takes Two.

Viewers were expecting to see Wynne and his professional dance partner Katya Jones on Wednesday's instalment of the show. However, minutes into the programme, host Janette Manrara informed fans this wouldn't be the case.

Despite Fleur East confirming that Wynne was expected to appear there was a last-minute change. Janette said, "If you've got any questions like, 'Why are Chris and Dianne on when yesterday we said it was going to be Wynne and Katya?' It's live TV, guys. You've got to roll with it, alright? Just roll with it."

While no confirmation as to why the pair pulled out of the appearance has been given Wynne has now been back posting on his social media as he and Katya prepare for the iconic Blackpool live performance week in the dance competition. Sharing on his Instagram stories late on Wednesday evening Wynne revealed that the pair are already in the city ahead of Saturday's live show as they continue to rehearse.

In one short clip he reposted from Katya's account he was sat on a sofa sipping from a Tottenham themed mug as she asked "why?" to which he responded: "Because I support Spurs." He then shared a nighttime snap of Blackpool Tower illuminated writing across the snap "We're in town," and tagging both Katya and the BBC Strictly accounts.

Wynne had a lucky escape on Sunday when he and Katya ended up in the dance-off versus Shayne Ward and his dance partner Nancy Xu. Shayne was ultimately sent home by deciding judge Shirley Ballas after Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse opted to keep Shayne, while Anton Du Beke wanted to save Wynne.

Speaking about his time in the show, Shayne said: "I just want to say, you guys up there [the other contestants] are a dream. Every single day, coming in here and seeing you guys you helped me so much.

"I want to say thank you to the audience as well for always being amazing for us all. This has been, honestly, one of the best things I've ever done." Nancy added: "I'm beyond proud of this dance partnership. Shayne from week one until this point, every second you put your feet on the dancefloor you improved yourself.

"You're a deep thinker, you always doubt yourself, you never believed yourself, but I never ever questioned you. When I watch you, I feel proud because I've turned someone who has never ever danced in their life into an amazing dancer. You should believe in yourself. I adored this partnership."
