The Traitors star Charlotte Berman has broken her silence after viewers said she was 'robbed' of the win during the dramatic final episode of the BBC series
The Traitors contestants find out that Charlotte isn't WelshThe finale of The Traitors had viewers glued to their screens on Friday night (January 24) as Faithfuls Leanne Quigley and Jake Brown nabbed the win, taking home the hefty sum of £94,600.
Yet, fans weren't exactly thrilled with the result, many claiming that Traitor Charlotte Berman was "robbed" of victory.
Charlotte has now spoken out, telling MailOnline: "The tears and the emotion was so real. I felt like I was in the stickiest spot imaginable, but I owed it to the Traitors and I owed it to the game to keep going."
She continued: "So I was despairing and crying a lot, but I really tried to keep playing. It was really, really tough, really, really tough."
Charlotte admitted: "That's why I find it really hard to watch because it actually brings back how tough it was to do as well."
Despite being the only remaining Traitor after betraying Minah, who brought her into the fold, and then recruiting Freddie, ultimately setting him up for her own benefit, Charlotte fell at the final hurdle, reports Wales Online.
The last episode served up drama with the 'Seer Twist', which revealed to the days challenge victor the true identity of the Traitor.
When Francesca won and discovered her bestie Charlottes duplicity, shock ensued, leading to both women scrambling to secure support from the others.
The tension culminated at the roundtable, where all four finalists declared Charlotte the Traitor, resulting in her dramatic expulsion from the castle.
Fans watching from their sofas couldn't hide their dismay, convinced that the show's latest twist was a total setup to favour the Faithfuls, which shafted Charlotte out of her rightful victory.
One telly addict took to X, dubbed the artist formerly known as Twitter, to say: "Charlotte is genuinely the most legendary player the show has seen."
They gushed, "Fiercely intelligent, utterly ruthless and delightfully charming, she played it the way Traitors should: COLD. Ultimately robbed by the power of the Seer, my head still bows to her #TheTraitors."
An unhappy viewer vented: "Don't bother bringing back the Seer next year #TheTraitorsUK, completely robbed Charlotte of the W there."
And another peeved fan let rip, fuming: "Ahh, I can't believe Charlotte got screwed over by the twist. I hate this so much, she was such a good Traitor. Justice for Charlotte #TheTraitorsUK."
