A beloved comedian has died aged just 28 in the midst of their tour.

Comedian Ken Flores has died aged 28 in the middle of his comedy tour.

The US stand-up comic, who was based in Chicago, was performing 33 dates across America, and was scheduled to return to the stage on Thursday January 30.

The news was confirmed with a statement on his Instagram, which read: "It is with great sadness that we confirm the untimely passing of our friend, brother, and son, Kenyi Flores.

"Please respect our privacy at this time as we are all shocked and devastated by this loss."

According to TMZ, The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Flores died at his home on Tuesday night.

Flores' shows were scheduled up until April 19, but his last performance was January 25 in Georgia.

The comedian had shared his excitement as he penned on social media: "So I started my tour a couple weeks ago and I’m proud to say I’ve done every single show.

"5 in Portland 1 in Albuquerque and 4 in Atlanta without a single drop of alcohol. Nervous for Phoenix next weekend but I think I got it I’m not sober just wanna chill a bit."

Tributes have poured in for the late comedian, as Hollywood Improv group penned: "We were honored to give him a stage to share his talent. Sending so much love to his family and the comedy community."

Neema Naz wrote: ‘I was hoping this wasn’t real. What a tragic and devastating loss to the world. Ken was a gem and was going to be a star one day. RIP."

Musicians Los Desvelados said: ‘Ken. Thank you for all amazing times the laughter the jokes, you will be missed RIP."
