The 2025 Grammy Award nominations were announced today, and Beyoncé, Chappell Roan, and Kendrick Lamar can count themselves among the nominees for Song of the Year. Rounding out the category are Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter, Shaboozey, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars. See all of the 2025 Grammy nominations here.

Beyoncé is up for the Cowboy Carter single “Texas Hold ’Em.” It is her fifth time being nominated for Song of the Year, but she’s won the category only once, in 2010, for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).”

Roan is nominated for “Good Luck, Babe!,” her first new song since 2023’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, and Kendrick Lamar for the world-conquering Drake diss “Not Like Us.” Mars and Gaga’s duet “Die With a Smile” is the newest of the pack, having been released just two weeks prior to the August 30 eligibility cutoff.

Both Eilish and Swift—nominated for “Birds of a Feather” and the Post Malone–featuring “Fortnight,” respectively—were nominated for Song of the Year at the 2024 Grammy Awards, too, with this being Swift's third consecutive year in the category. Eilish took home the award last year, for “What Was I Made For?,” her contribution to the Barbie soundtrack.

Each a first-time nominee in the category, Sabrina Carpenter is nominated for “Please Please Please,” and Shaboozey for “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” both Billboard No. 1 hits.

The 2025 Grammy Awards are set to air live, on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena. Follow along with all of Pitchfork’s coverage of the 2025 Grammy Awards, and revisit “Who Should Be Nominated at the 2025 Grammy Awards” on the Pitch.
