Always relied upon to be of the chintziest ceremonies of awards season, the Grammy's attracts big looks, both in terms of actual size as well as their clout-giving abilities. Last night's ceremony was no different, with stars including Charli XCX and Chappell Roan drowning in infinite layers of tulle and Jaden Smith wearing a castle on his head. TheIndustry.fashion runs through the biggest trends from last night's red carpet.
American rapper Jaden Smith, 26, wore a custom Louis Vuitton suit, with darted, cinched waist and dramatic barrel sleeves. He paired the black suit with a head piece that resembled a fairytale castle. The ‘home’ inspired piece has been speculated to be a tribute to the recent Los Angeles wildfires, which destroyed more than 12,000 structures earlier this year. He paired the look with black trainers. Miley Cyrus, 32, followed suit in a black cut out leather gown by Saint Laurent. The halter-neck pieces crossed at the neck, baring the Flowers singer's stomach, and the ankle skimming skirt boasted a thigh-high split.
British singer Raye, who was nominated for three Grammys, wore a black strapless embellished silk gown from Armani Prive. Lady Gaga sported British designer Vivienne Westwood (alongside Taylor Swift) in an all-black gothic gown with leather corsetry and a pluming skirt. She paired this with a Tiffany & Co. archival gold pendant necklace with tourmaline, pearl and onyx that had never been worn on the red carpet before. She paired this with earrings and a ring from brand.
Olivia Rodrigo wore a vintage Versace black backless cut-out dress with burgundy nails and loose curls. She completed the look with Tiffany & Co diamonds. The Vampire singer, 21, was nominated for one award for best song written for visual media (which she wrote for The Hunger Games), while last year she was nominated for six. Rodrigo has certainly entered her haute couture era, such as the AW98 Dior sheer knitted lace gown from the Galliano days that she wore to her Guts World Tour film premiere, or the red hot leather lace-up dress from Ludovic de Saint Sernin's SS25 collection which she wore for her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Singer Chappell Roan, 26, also dipped into the archives wearing a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier gown from 2003. Sabrina Carpenter, 25, finessed old Hollywood glamour in a baby blue silk gown by JW Anderson. The dress' used pearls for its halter-neck and had a ruffle of feathers halo-ing the Short'N'Sweet singer's hips, as well as around the hem of the gown. Carpenter took home best pop solo performance for Espresso. American singer Gracie Abrams, 25, wore a white wedding-adjacent gown by Chanel, topped with a sheer ivory veil. The dress featured Chanel’s classic camellia flower on the bodice, off-shoulder sleeves and a black ribbon waist. Abrams finished the look with black pointed court shoes. Charli XCX wore a dramatic Jean Paul Gaultier slate-grey gown with a corseted bodice and pluming tulle ruffles. The 32-year-old singer finished the look with contrasting black cut out, knee-high boots and long mermaid waves. She was nominated for eight Grammy awards, winning Best Electronic/Dance Album for her album Brat, Best Dance Pop Recording for her song Von Dutch and Best Recording Package for Brat.Black
