Boyzone reveal explosive rows with rival band Westlife that jeopardised tour

The upcoming Boyzone documentary is set to unearth why the band split - but tensions flaring up within the group have been circulating for years

All eyes will be on Boyzone when their documentary, named No Matter What, lands on screens next month. The members have experienced serious highs and lows over the years, as well as 'rows' which have been widely reported on in the past.

Popstar Keith Duffyrevealed in recent years that he had 'full-blown rows' with his tour mate Brian McFadden. The pair had been performing together for their much-anticipated Old School tour, as Boyzlife, which saw them perform classics from their Boyzone and Westlife heyday.

However, it's not always smooth sailing, with Kevin explaining that there have been fights between the two singers. Speaking in an interview with The Sun at the time, Keith explained: “We’ll have a proper argument and a row – we’d never be aggressive with each other, we’re not children – but we’ll certainly let it be known that we’re unhappy and we’re having a little fallout.

“We don’t brush things under the carpet or pretend things didn’t happen.”

Despite the rows, the pair are quick to reconcile. Keith added: "People will see us after a row having a pint in the pub next door, and they’ll go ‘how are those still talking?’”

The pair joined forces to perform hits from Boyzone and Westlife from the 90s and 00s, with their tour covering medleys and hits the audience will remember. Despite their feuding, Keith went on to say he and Brian have a close bond.

He explained: “We’re very close. I have two brothers but my relationship with Brian is closer than that. There has to be an air of understanding, and we can’t always get on well, and you’re not going to be on good form every day. You’re going to do things that upset each other.

“We tour together, we laugh together, we go out together, but if something isn’t quite right, we’ll have a row.”

In an interview on FUBAR Radio, Brian opened up about his friendship with Keith. He revealed: "It’s two best mates on the road having fun.

"A lot of people when they start in a pop group, especially from the nineties, are put together, they don’t know each other, you have to get to know each other, and you don’t really have a choice … but for Keith and me, we were friends and then we started this thing together. We knew we loved each other already.

"We have this great system together where we know how to look after each other, we know when not to p**s the other person off, we know if somebody’s in a bad mood then don’t push their buttons.

"We very rarely have any fights or bad days and if someone is having a bad day, the other person takes care of them, so there is a lot of harmony in our group."

Boyzone: No Matter What is available to watch on Sky and NOW on February 2.
