She then remained in intensive care for five days before she died.

Cooper’s friend and fellow model Jade Parfitt confirmed the news on her social media.

“Goodbye beautiful girl,” Parfitt wrote on Instagram.

“Devastated to share the news of George’s passing.

“One of the funniest and naughtiest, never mind most beautiful friends, we all wanted to hang out with George backstage.

“Sending so much love to her son, family and friends.

“Gone too soon.”

Cooper’s former agent Dean Goodman also confirmed the news in a statement to the New York Post.

“I can confirm the death of the beauty that was Georgina Cooper,” he said.

“She loved Greece and told me that she was going back with her new husband – but she has tragically died there a fortnight ago.

“Georgina had been unwell during Covid and had developed some health problems and had been in and out of hospital.

“She had just married and was looking forward to her life. Everybody is devastated. She was a genuine superstar.

“She was a special one, like no other I have ever looked after, she was real… hard to find these days and she will be sorely missed by me and the many others that she touched their lives.

“Seeing the outpouring of love for her is beautiful and shows what a special person she was, a naughty funny soul, and a smile that lit up any room or catwalk.”

Cooper’s childhood friend commented on the post, saying: “My heart is broken.”

Other commenters shared memories of Cooper’s “cheeky smile” and fun personality.

“Such sad news,” British fashion photographer Robert Fairer said.

“She was such a character backstage in the 90s and beyond.”

“Ahh George…. You were an incredibly loving and kind human-being,” British model Erin O’Connor said.

“We all admired and loved you so much for the warmth and generosity you brought to us all.

“Beautiful soul, mum, woman. Rest in peace.”

“Not our George,” Becky Southwick said.

“This is horrible news. I rep’d her in London and NY and she was always a hoot a minute.”

“My darling beautiful friend,” Charlotte Connoley said.

“ I am totally devastated.

“Your laugh, our stories and memories will stay with me forever.”
