According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire), the Hughes Fire has grown to 500 acres. Evacuation orders are in place for these zones:
- CAS-CASTAICLAKE, CAS-PARADISERANCH, CAS-RIDGE, LAC-E008
Evacuation warnings are in place for these locations:
- CAS-BITTERCANYON, CAS-CASTAICLAKE, CAS-CHARLIECANYON, CAS-GOLDENSTATE, CAS-GREENHILL, CAS-SLOA, GOR-E004, LAC-E005, LAC-E011-A, LAC-E011-B, LAC-E016
The fire is currently zero percent contained, Cal Fire says. The fire has also prompted road closures at Dry Gulch Road and Lake Hughes Road. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
