Gossip Girl actor Chanel Maya Banks has been found safe and uninjured after she was reported missing in Los Angeles, despite her husband reportedly being unwilling to help.
The 36-year-old lives in the Playa Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles, and she hadn't been heard from since October 30.
Authorities were said to have carried out wellness checks on November 7 and 8, but they were not able to locate her. Banks, who played Sawyer Bennett in three episodes of hit show Gossip Girl, was later officially declared a missing person with her cousin Danielle-Tori Singh even launching a GoFundMe campaign.
Singh flew in from Toronto and her mother from New York in a bid to find her, with law enforcement telling TMZ on Wednesday that Banks was found safe and sound and they did not suspect foul play was involved in her disappearance.
Singh told ABC7 Eyewitness News, "Five days without hearing from my cousin is red flags and alarm bells.
"She doesn't go more than 48 hours without speaking to me or her mom. ... That girl is more like a big sister to me."
Husband 'not willing to help'
The case attracted attention after Banks' husband of more than a year was reportedly not willing to help with the search. Singh claimed: "He's not willing to help LAPD. He's not willing to help me or her mom find her. He is removing flyers off of posts and cars."
She added on the GoFundMe page: "We asked him where is Chanel, and all he continues to say is 'She does not want to be found, she will reach out when she's ready.' He claims he does not know where she is, he says he hasn't seen or heard from her since November 7."
Danielle-Tori also claimed that Banks' husband had a "busted lip and scratches on his neck and arms" on November 10, which "he did not have two days ago when police did the last welfare check."
