Charlotte Crosby, reality TV star turned entrepreneur, is just days away from welcoming her second baby, and she’s not sugar-coating how tough this pregnancy has been.

The 34-year-old, who is expecting another baby girl with fiancé Jake Ankers, is having a rough ride in her final trimester. “I’m just surviving at this point,” she laughs when we catch up on a video call.

“I’m so ready to have this baby now. I can’t wait. I’ve been throwing up all morning! I was still being sick right up until I had my first baby, and it’s been the same this time. I actually hadn’t been sick for about three weeks, and I thought it was over – but then, wow, this morning it hit me like a ton of bricks.”

Despite the challenges, Charlotte, mum to two-year-old Alba, is powering through. “Honestly, there’s nothing harder than being pregnant with a toddler. It should be an Olympic sport – mums deserve medals for this!”

Charlotte and Jake, also 34, announced they are to become parents again back in September – with a video on Instagram. The end of the clip shows Charlotte on a beach with her fiancé and Alba, before displaying her bump and a sonogram photo. Weeks later they revealed the gender of the baby when they let off smoke cannons while on holiday in the Maldives – surrounding them in clouds of pink to indicate a girl.

And, while it was a beautiful moment, Charlotte says Jake didn’t take the gender news as you might expect. “He wanted a boy so bad,” she says. “I don’t want to ruin his reaction – because it was a big one, but we’re filming a TV show at the minute and we filmed the whole gender reveal, so I don’t want to give too much away, but he was devastated. Now, he’s come round to the idea, so it’s all good.”

And Alba will be delighted with the new addition, too, she says. “I think Alba’s going to be such a good big sister,” Charlotte smiles. “She’s so mothering. She loves pushing babies in their prams and putting their blankets on. She even gives them their dummies! I just hope she doesn’t feel jealous when the new baby arrives. Everyone says to make it all about Alba – like, say to her, ‘This is your baby.’ Include her in everything.”

And Charlotte hasn’t got long to wait to meet her new baby via planned C-section. “I had a C-section with Alba, and it was such a good experience. I like to be in control – especially after my ectopic pregnancy [in 2016]. Waking up from that operation and being told I almost died and lost two reproductive organs was awful. I never want to feel out of control like that again. I would always only have a C-section anyway, I have absolutely no desire to push a baby out of my vagina as it is too hard.”

Career-wise, she is returning to her TV roots and filming a new reality TV show, Geordie Shore: Charlotte’s Having Another Baby, which continues to document her life as a mum – hot on the heels of Charlotte In Sunderland . It really is a fly-on-the wall programme with the cameras following every step of her pregnancy journey.

“The cameras will be there for the birth, just like with Alba,” Charlotte reveals. “It was actually really fun last time. We had a playlist.”

Charlotte was a star on Geordie Shore

Her life now is a far cry from her partying ways in Geordie Shore, which she joined in 2011 as an original cast member. Gone are the days of “getting mortal” and late night kebabs. Reflecting on how she’s evolved, she says, “I’ve grown so much. I’m not interested in going out clubbing all night. I don’t want to stand in front of a DJ. It’s just not me, I’m not in that phase of my life. Maybe in my fifties when I’m having some kind of midlife crisis, but not right now. If I go out, I want to be with my closest friends in a nice restaurant with nice music where you can have a chat.”

For now, Charlotte is focused on her growing family and navigating the chaos of motherhood. She’s also proud to champion her hometown of Sunderland in the North East for Rightmove’s Selling Sunderland campaign video, a playful nod to Netflix ’s property-reality show Selling Sunset.

“I’ve always said how funny it would be to do a property show in Sunderland,” Charlotte grins. “When Rightmove approached me, it was like we were on the same wavelength.”

Describing her city and the surrounding area, Charlotte says, “Not only does it have the coastlines, the sea, the sand, the sex, it also has glorious landscapes, countryside, fields, trees, rolling hills, beautiful national parks, monuments that you feel like you would stumble across in Rome.

“There’s so much to do. It’s perfect for crisp morning walks with the dogs and kids. Plus, there are loads of exciting developments, like a new film studio on the River Wear. Tom Cruise could be walking through Sheepfolds Stables [shopping and events centre] any day now!”
