Strictly’s Dianne Buswell and Chris McCausland share rehearsal update
Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell have given fans an exclusive insight into their latest rehearsal block. The pair are gearing up to return to the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom this weekend but the comedian has admitted working on their upcoming routine has been “hard”.
On Saturday (November 2), comedian Chris, 47, and professional dancer Dianne, 35, are set to return to the dance floor. The pair are hard at work behind the scenes in the hopes of bettering last week’s 26-point Samba.
On Wednesday (October 30) Dianne took to Instagram to discuss how the pair are preparing to take on the Tango in the BBC studios. “Chris look at you, your little rosy cheeks today,” she remarked in a video.
“I’ve put your face near mine - it’s quite red.” After hearing that rehearsals for their upcoming dance had caused her partner to “sweat” more than ever before, the Australian explained: “Every single week he doesn’t really know what dance we’re about to do.
“So he’s going, ‘Yeah, Tango Ballroom, love that’, probably thinking it’s like the waltz. Which is nothing like the waltz, is it?”

The comedian quickly defended himself, telling Dianne’s one million social media followers: “Every week everybody stands up in the Claudi Rumium whatever it’s called and they watch the dances and they see everybody else doing the dances.
“They see some good ones and some bad ones but when it gets round to their turn to do that dance they’ve got a good idea of what makes a good one and what makes a bad one.
“And every week you have to start from nothing trying to explain to me what a Tango is,” he continued. “Or what a Samba is.”
Dianne explained that the pair were doing “so well” as they tackled their Icons Week performance to KISS’ ‘Rock and Roll All Nite’.
“It’s so tiring,” Chris added before his professional partner announced they’d been chiselling away to perfect the star’s frame.

“This is why I’m sweating so much,” he revealed. “This is exhausting.”
The duo then launched into an off-the-cuff rendition of Wet Wet Wet’s ‘Love Is All Around’ before Chris stated: “It’s hard isn’t it?”
He admitted further that while he and Dianne thought their latest ballroom showing was “pretty good”, they’d been approached in public by someone who wasn’t as impressed.
They reportedly told Chris and Dianne not to “worry about last Saturday”.
“She goes ‘All your others have been great so don’t worry about last Saturday’,” mimicked Dianne. “We were like, ‘Oh. Was it that bad?’.”
“Don’t worry Chris, I looked back at it and it was really good. And then old Jill in the coffee shop down the road told us otherwise.”
Tune into Icons Week on Strictly Come Dancing this Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
