Coi Leray has finally parted ways with her record label.
The “No More Parties” rapper took to Instagram on Friday to declare that she’s “officially an independent artist!” She continued, “Shout out to the Coipond. Couldn’t do it with out you! I’m so fcking happy.”
In her caption, she also shouted out her lawyer, Aaron Rosenberg.
Leray’s announcement follows recent allegations she made against her former label, 1801 Records. On Oct. 24, the 27-year-old took to IG to vent about her frustrations over 1801’s Billy Jones, whom she accused of "trying to take over my life and ruin my career."
"There's nothing in this life I want more than this guy right here to leave me alone. He has done NOTHING for my career and has been trying to take from me for the past 5 years,” Coi wrote alongside a screenshot of Jones’ IG account.
Leray said she signed "the worst production deal with 1801" five years ago, claiming she was “finessed” by the label when she was given access to their lawyer, who "didn’t read me the correct terms."
"I’m so depressed with these people on my back and I will never drop another record in my life until I fight every bone in my body for this man right here to just leave me alone," she added.
