Coleen Rooney could sensationally quit I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The Liverpudlian and wife of Wayne Rooney left people gobsmacked when it emerged she would be swapping her Cheshire mansion for the Australian jungle. Having been asked to take part in the ITV challenge show for "years" Coleen, 38, admits now is the right time to relaunch herself into the public eye.

Despite reports that her reactive arthritis may see her ruled out for some Bushtucker Trials on medical grounds, Coleen recently told fans that this wouldn't be the case and she's ready to throw herself into whatever she faces. But some believe that by being the "most famous" name in the camp, she could find herself up for more than she bargained for.

Now, bookies believe that this could make the 38-year-old could reconsider her options and swap the camp for a luxury five star hotel before the show even comes to an end. Although Coleen was initially the jungle favourite, odds on her have been slashed to 9/1, while Danny Jones has grown in popularity and is placed at 5/2.

Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: "Coleen Rooney is the most famous face heading to the jungle and punters are convinced that she will be voted to do the most bushtucker trials. Whether or not she can handle it remains to be seen, but we have witnessed money on her throwing in the towel."

In a video posted on social media to confirm she was heading Down Under, Coleen addressed speculation she may not do all the trials. She said: "I'm looking forward to doing the trials. There's been a lot of news saying that I can't do trials because of certain illnesses and that, but I can confirm I can do every trial. So I am not excluded from any that was just a load of rubbish, and I am, yeah, I'm looking forward to it."

She claimed that "year after year" she has been asked to do the TV programme but the timing never felt right until this year. Making reference to the infamous Wagatha Christie case which saw Coleen claim Rebekah Vardy's Instagram account had leaked stories to the press, a claim she denies, she said: "Over the years, there have been different things going on in my life and also, my children have been really young. But they are at an age now where I can go away for this length of time. I also feel it's time to have a challenge for me and do something different. It has taken many, many years but I’m finally doing it. And I have always said if I was going to do one – then it would be this show. I think it will be good for me."

But Coleen's stint in the jungle has been met with backlash by one former campmate. Kim Woodburn, who came second in the 2009 series, narrowly missing the top spot to Gino D'Acampo fumed that Coleen didn't need the money – or publicity from the ITV programme.

Speaking to the Mirror, Kim said: "I don't know why she needs the publicity. She's extremely wealthy and extremely in the public eye, a very famous young woman, extremely famous. Why's she decided to do this?"
