Danica Patrick Agrees To Former NFL Super Bowl Champion Collaboration

Former NASCAR and IndyCar driver Danica Patrick and Will Blackmon, a former NFL Super Bowl champion, are considering an interesting collaboration. These two personalities may join forces for a podcast surrounding their common interest in wine.

Danica Patrick became the first woman to win an IndyCar Series event at the 2008 Indy Japan 300. She also notched another historical mark with a third-place finish in the 2009 Indianapolis 500, the highest-ever for a woman in the event.

After retiring from racing, she turned her attention to another passion: winemaking. In 2020, Patrick launched her own line, Danica Rosé Wine. The wine is sourced from Provence, known for its exceptional Rosé wines, and is noted for its delicate peach aroma combined with hints of tropical fruit and a lively lemon finish.

Meanwhile, Will Blackmon, whose NFL career spanned 14 years with teams like the Green Bay Packers and New York Giants, developed a passion for wine during his sports career thanks to an introduction from his teammate, Charles Woodson.

This interest grew, leading him to achieve a Level Two certification with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust. In 2019, Blackmon took his wine enthusiasm further by founding The Wine MVP, a concierge service designed to make wine appreciation accessible to everyone.

The idea for Patrick and Blackmon's collaboration originated on social media. It was on Blackmon's Instagram that a follower proposed the idea of having Patrick as a guest on his "Wine with Will" podcast.

In response, Blackmon admitted that he wasn't acquainted with Patrick but found the potential collaboration exciting.

"I don't know her. But if y'all can get Danica Patrick that would be dope," Blackmon remarked.

Danica Patrick, in turn, acknowledged the online interaction and responded:

"Let's do it Will Blackmon!"

This comes after Patrick's strong public backing of Donald Trump in the US election. Speaking about the impact of her involvement in politics, the former driver recently explained, as previously reported by Newsweek Sports:

"Definitely, when I post some stuff about politics, you see some dropping due to that. But then you get some back because that's how it works... I'd say the same thing works with friends.

"You know, you'll drop some friends but then you're gonna pick some up too because you're going to find more of your people. And it's going to make you happier anyway."

Revealing that her political involvement felt like a "calling," she also explained:

"That night just standing in the crowd, you know, after all the swing states kept going red, and you're like, wow, and once Pennsylvania came through, you're like, 'Oh my God, it's really happening.'

"[...] It's been a long time since I just like volunteered so much time out of passion and out of a calling. I guess it's been a while since there's been a calling. And that's kind of what it was. It was a very, it was a very unforced process for me that began at AmFest in the end of 2023.

"It was just such a blessing to be on that last phase of it. That last sort of four or five days with Tulsi (Gabbard) and yourself, and the man himself Donald Trump. So I'll never forget flying home on Trump Force One sitting next to him hanging out being like, 'How did I get here? This is so wild.'"
