Michael Douglas, Davina McCall's boyfriend, has posted for the first time on his partner's behalf since the TV legend underwent brain surgery.
The veteran TV star announced this morning that she was undergoing immediate surgery to remove a 14mm benign brain tumour. Taking to Instagram, Davina shared an emotional upload with her fans as she made the announcement: "I was offered a health scan which I thought I was going to ace but it turned out I had benign brain tumour," she revealed before admitted it is "very rare".
Davina asked her fans to keep her in their thoughts as she undergoes the operation. In the meantime, her Michael takes over her social media during her recovery period. He quickly moved to reassure fans of the presenter's condition. He returned to his partner page this evening to share an update with fans.
"An update from me, Michael," he captioned a text image of his update. The statement from Michael reads: "Hey all. Davina is out of surgery and according to the surgeon it was textbook! She's currently recovering in ICU as a precaution, as you can imagine she's utterly exhausted. Thanks so much for all the love from everyone on here.. it's powerful stuff, we are super grateful. Michael xx."

Thinking of you all and sending love for the speediest of recoveries x," former X Factor host Kate Thornton wrote in the comments with Loose Women panellist Katie Piper adding: "Good to hear. We are all thinking of you Davina." A fan added: "Amazing! The nation is literally rooting for you Davina!! You’ve got this!"
In Davina's original post this morning, Michael said she was in "great shape" but will be "off grid" until she's fully recovered. In a caption of the video, he said: "Hey everyone. Michael here. @davinamccall will be "off grid" for a bit while she recovers from this brain operation. She is in great shape and in very good hands. I'll do the odd update from her account here for anyone interested. I'm sure she'll read all the comments when she's able to so feel free to send love [heart emoji] . The support of people is amazingly powerful. Have a great day everyone. Michael xxx."
Despite looking extremely fit, Davina admitted earlier this year she had been targeted by trolls due to her physique. The former Big Brother presenter took to Instagram in M ay to hit back at online trolls who branded her as "too skinny" following a video she shared. She revealed the "cruel" remarks left her "frustrated." Sharing her thoughts on social media, she said: "I'm a 5ft 6in woman who weighs 61 kilos. I don't diet. I exercise.
"I eat relatively healthily and I enjoy sharing that journey with people. I'm 57 this year and I'm happy with the way that I look, and I feel absolutely f***ing great. And so I just thought I'd post that there." She concluded: "I can't really do much about my neck and my face unless I fill it with filler."
The star released her first fitness DVD in 2004. She then released another the following year titled Davina: Power of 3, with My Three 30 Minute Workouts. After she had released a total of 14 exercise DVDs in total, she launched her online fitness and lifestyle programme called 'Own Your Goals' in 2019. She said she did so in a bid to help people get fit. The programme is home to hundreds of workout routines, live fitness sessions, healthy recipe ideas and wellbeing advice.
