Dawn Ward sets record straight after shocking fans with bruised and swollen facelift photos

Former Real Housewives of Cheshire star Dawn Ward has undergone a facelift in the hopes of preserving her youthful looks and has defended her decision to go under the knife after facing criticism

Dawn Ward has shown off the results of her facelift as she continues to recover from the surgery.

The former Real Housewives of Cheshire star, 51, went under the knife earlier this month in a bid to preserve her youthful looks. Dawn took to Instagram on Monday to show off her swollen face and puffy eyes as she rests and recovers after the huge operation.

Popular among Hollywood stars, a facelift is a cosmetic surgery which sees a surgeon lift up and pull back the skin on the face to make the face look tighter and smoother.

Many stars, including Katie Price, have undergone the procedure in a bid to look younger and more fresh, with reality TV star Dawn being the latest UK star to go under the knife.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Dawn showcased her painful look to fans as she appeared on camera with a black cast around her face. The reality TV star also had tape across her cheeks and below her eyes, which were swollen and bruised from the surgery.

The ex Real Housewives star still managed to look glamorous however as she had her false eyelash extensions in and scooped her blonde hair back into a high bun.

Dawn, who underwent the procedure a couple of days ago, told her Instagram followers that Monday was her 'worst day' of recovery. "This is day two and my face is really really tight. Apparently, this is my worst day."

While in recovery, Dawn said that she was being kept busy by binging the new series of Married At First Sight UK after discovering the series while she was in hospital. "Little update, on a good note I've just found Married At First sight series six so I'm super happy."

Elsewhere, Dawn addressed fan backlash after she was quizzed on why she felt she needed to undergo a facelift in the first place. Dawn insisted that her intention in getting the procedure wasn't to change the way she looked, but to rather preserve her youth.

She told her fanbase: "I'm not changing the way I look, I'm just wanting to look like a fresher version of myself. Loads of my friends have had it done. Just having a little freshen up, so there you go."

Dawn's latest surgery comes after she recently became a grandmother again after her daughter, Darby. announced she had given birth to her second child. Back in June, the 28-year-old influencer revealed her husband, entrepreneur Michael Jackson had become a father once again as the pair welcomed a second daughter after two-year-old Skye Lynne.

The couple, who have been married since 2022, decided to name their bundle of joy River Rosa Jackson, with Darby writing in a social media post: "River Rosa Jackson - 11/06/24. 7pounds, 4 ounces of perfection.... we are totally in love with out little baby girl."

Taking to the comment section to congratulate her daughter at the time, Dawn wrote: "You were amazing, and our little River was just perfect. I cannot wait to see her growing up with our beautiful Sky every day Darby you blow me away away with what an unbelievable mother you are. she’s such a precious addition to our family."
