Days of Our Lives star Francisco San Martin dies aged 39 as tragic cause of death revealed

Francisco San Martin, known for his role on Days of Our Lives, has tragically passed away at the age of 39.

The actor was discovered in his Los Angeles residence last Thursday, according to police reports. His former co-stars have been expressing their sorrow, with Camila Banus, who played his on-screen sister Gabi, taking to Instagram to share her grief: "Pepe, what can I say but I love you and rest in peace, my friend. Love you mucho mucho mucho. I wish I had told you more."

The actor is believed to have died by suicide, the Los Angeles County Coroner's office told the Hollywood LA News. San Martin was celebrated for his portrayal of Dario Hernandez on the enduring soap opera Days of Our Lives.

Originally from Spain, he relocated to Montana in the United States during his childhood.

San Martin's early acting experiences were in children's theatre, which eventually led him to a career in modelling. He dedicated years to honing his craft as an actor since his teenage days, achieving prominence with his role on Days of Our Lives, where he featured in several episodes from 2010 to 2011, reports the Mirror.

His additional credits include a part in the 2013 movie Behind the Candelabra. In 2017, San Martin made a return to daytime television with a stint on The Bold and the Beautiful, appearing in 16 episodes as Mateo, the groundskeeper, on the CBS series.

That same year, he portrayed Fabian Regalo del Cielo, an estate manager, on the popular series Jane the Virgin.

The entertainment world is mourning the loss of Francisco San Martin, with heartfelt tributes flooding in. Journalist Michael Fairman lamented: "Very, very sad. I am a bit in shock, as I saw Francisco at my gym most every day."

Another individual expressed their sorrow online: "So sad to hear about the death of Francisco San Martin, a star from Days of Our Lives and Jane the Virgin. He was only 39! His contributions to television will never be forgotten."
