Diddy Demands Court to ‘Prohibit’ Future Allegations to Secure the Right to a ‘Fair Trial’

Sean “Diddy” Combs has requested to “prohibit” claims and statements from prospective witnesses to ensure that the Bad Boy Records founder gets a “fair trial,” according to court documents obtained by In Touch.

The disgraced rapper, 54, and his legal team want to “avoid the creation of a ‘carnival atmosphere’ in high-profile cases” like Diddy’s, according to the documents filed on Sunday, October 20.

Diddy was arrested in September on sex trafficking and racketeering charges. Since he was taken into custody, hundreds of alleged victims have stepped forward and shared the alleged abuse they received from him over the years.

In the October filing obtained by In Touch, Diddy’s team claimed that he was the “target of an unending stream of allegations by prospective witnesses and their counsel,” accusing the alleged victims of creating “inflammatory and extrajudicial” statements.

“Several of these lawyers have made shockingly prejudicial and false allegations of sexual assault and abuse of minors, the details of which need not be repeated,” the statement continued later in the filing, referring to the Houston law firm representing 120 of Diddy’s alleged victims.

“Each day that passes brings a fresh wave of publicity, often at the direction of accusers and their counsel, further prejudicing Mr. Combs’ right to a fair trial,” the filing concluded. “Therefore, we respectfully request that any response be filed on October 30, 2024.”

Attorney Tony Buzbee held a press conference on October 1, and shared the statements from some of the alleged victims – including those who were minors during the alleged incidents.

“This individual, who was 9 years old at the time, was taken to an audition in New York City with Bad Boy Records. Other boys were there to audition as well. All of them were trying to land a record deal. All of them were minors,” Buzbee said.

The attorney went on to explain that the alleged victim claimed to have been “abused allegedly by Sean Combs and several other people at the studio in the promise to both [the victim’s] parents and him, himself, of getting a record deal.”

Diddy’s attorney Erica Wolff denied all allegations in a statement to TMZ.

“As Mr. Combs’ legal team has emphasized, he cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus,” Wolff told the outlet. “That said, Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors. He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court if and when claims are filed and served, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.”

On October 16, attorney Buzbee exclusively told In Touch that celebrities who roamed in Diddy’s circles are “trying to avoid” potential charges “by settling with their [alleged] victims now.”

“If you were attending one of these parties … or you knew what was going to happen — that is, you knew that a particular drug was being used in drinks that was causing people to be coerced and taken advantage of — and you were there in the room, or you participated, or you watched it happen and didn’t say anything, or you helped cover it up, in my view, you have a problem,” Buzbee said of Diddy’s extravagant parties. “And because it’s in the best interest of the victim, we attempt to resolve these matters without the filing of a public lawsuit, and we have done that already.”
