A woman from London was dining at a restaurant when someone's dog got a little too close to her table. Her reaction has delighted social media users.
In a viral TikTok video shared in December under the username @sammyynapolitano, the poster can be seen interacting with the pup, which she describes as a possible Airedale/poodle mix with the cutest red bow on her neck, before the dog's owners apologize to her about their pet's behavior.
"I love the dog I want her closer to our table," she can be heard telling them, as layover text in the clip reads: "When the people next to you apologize for their dog being too close to your table (but it's not close enough)."
The poster, 27-year-old Sammy Napolitano, told Newsweek that while having lunch at her favorite restaurant in the city, the pup kept coming to her table to sit next to her, and she loved having it around.
While Sammy wasn't bothered by the pup, many Americans don't like seeing dogs near their table while dining. According to statistics from YouGov, 76 percent of people say it's unacceptable, while 14 percent say it's fine.
The figures are similar for fast food outlets and bars, and most people don't want to see dogs in malls or stores either.
Early last year, The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) updated their list of food regulations, allowing dogs to join their owners while dining outdoors, as long as the restaurant's policy permits it. Only service dogs can join their owners indoors.
The video quickly went viral on social media and it has so far received over 2.7 million views and 530,000 likes on the platform.
One user, Helloitsmekgp, commented: "When someone apologizes for their dog coming up to me i'm like [please] this is exactly what i wanted to happen lol."
Maddie said: "Me every single time someone with a with dog is close to me."
Kiehl's Since 1851 added: "No because I would respond the exact same way."
