Pamela Anderson recently shared a tense interaction she had on a plane over a case of mistaken identity.
Anderson, 57, appeared on the Monday, January 6 episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, which was recorded live at the 92Y in New York.
During the discussion, she was asked if she's ever been confused for another celebrity. As it turns out, she had a wild story.
"One time, I was on a flight and this guy came up to me and said, 'Do you know what this country's done for you?' And I was like, 'Oh my God, what have I done?'" Anderson said.
"I would look back at him and he would be like, 'Grrr,' and I'd be like, 'Oh my God,'" she added. "And then this stewardess had to handcuff him to the chair because he was trying to attack me. It ended up he thought I was a Dixie Chick."
"That's only like the 400th most weird thing that's happened in your life, to be fair," Happy Sad Confused's host Josh Horowitz replied.
"Yeah, that's minor," Anderson added. "I was scared to fly after that a little bit, but you know."
Anderson was at the live podcast event to promote her new film, The Last Showgirl, alongside director Gia Coppola. On Sunday, January 5, Anderson also attended the Golden Globes, where she was nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Drama). In The Last Showgirl, she plays Shelly, a longtime Las Vegas showgirl, who finds out the production is coming to an end.
"It is never too late to dream, to start again, to stay open to possibilities — we are not all so lucky," Anderson shared in a December 2024 statement about her nomination (via People). "I wish everyone my love and thanks while I navigate this new exciting chapter."
The film hits theaters everywhere on Friday, January 10.
