The 78-year-old music icon - who is well known for her extravagant sense of style" - has given a very different impression of herself but insisted it's more important to be comfortable in your own skin.

She told the UK's Closer magazine: "I say I'm more of an eyesore than an icon in some of the stuff I wear.

"I just really do believe that for myself and for everybody else, you should wear what you're comfortable in, what fits your personality, what you feel good in."

And the 'Jolene' singer' admitted she loves lounging around in her tracksuit looking "like hell".

She added: "I can wear a tracksuit and look like hell when I'm at home! Everybody's got their slouchy, comfy clothes."

While the '9 To 5' hitmaker enjoys a "bit of yoga", she isn't into going out running as she joked about her famous bust.

She teased: "I do a little bit of yoga. I don't do much running, I'm not trying to give myself black eyes!

"So I just try to do stretches and little floor exercises. But I'm not big on that."

Dolly is able to keep her "sense of humour" after six decades in the music industry, and she insisted being able to have a laugh "makes life so much easier" and more enjoyable.

She said: "I do have a great sense of humour. I've had to have fun in this business.

"Everyone should try to develop a good sense of humour if you don't have one, because that makes life so much easier and so much more fun!"

Dolly is well-known for her upbeat outlook, but she recently admitted that it still takes some "work".

She told the Guardian newspaper: "You have to work at being happy. Some people work at being miserable.

"If I wake up in the morning and don’t feel great or things are not great, I try to think about what I can do to make things work better, rather than just falling into that deep hole, because then you just go deeper and deeper.

"I just try to have a good attitude and make things right; to be grateful for the things I have, thank God, and look for spiritual strength for myself."
