A woman has shared the moment a UPS delivery driver became frightened of her four-month-old dog.

Lexi Farris is the owner of Cleo, a Cane Corso puppy who recently found her bark. In a viral video shared to TikTok, a UPS driver can be seen stepping back and saying "Oh my God" as the dog starts barking.

"This has not happened before," Farris told Newsweek. "She just got her big girl bark a couple of days before this video."

In the video, the delivery driver asks if he can sign for the package on Farris' behalf, as he doesn't want to get too close to Cleo. "She doesn't bite, she's just a puppy," Farris can be heard saying in the clip, which has garnered 18.3 million views since it was first shared on December 22.

Newsweek has contacted UPS for comment via email.

In the caption of the video, Farris joked: "She's 4 months old and scaring people."

She told Newsweek: "I opened the door not knowing who was on the other side because we had a wreath up and as soon as the UPS man saw Cleo, he was not thrilled."

According to the British charity, the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals, Cane Corsos are large breeds of dogs that originally come from Italy and are part of the mastiff family.

They grow to between 58 and 70 cm and need around two hours of exercise a day as a large, energetic dog breed.

Farris' video attracted thousands of comments as well as over 1 million likes. Among the commenters were people sharing their love for the dog breed and others justifying the response of the delivery driver.

Kae Marie said: "I want a cane Corso puppy so bad."

Meanwhile, @SoaringWinds633, commented: "Oh, I feel bad for him. This is such a valid response in this line of work. He can't trust a dog even if people say it's okay. He's probably had an experience."

"What people don't understand is just because 'it's friendly I promise' doesn't mean it'll be that way with a stranger," @tdnrdnification wrote.

"I'd be too excited to see a Cane Corso," said @itsdjxplicit.

"As a mailman, I heard he/she doesn't bite hundreds of times...and got bit by some of the ones that 'don't bite'. Love dogs nonetheless," @cGibbyGib shared.

"Some people just are scared of dogs and that's okay!" said @apsss2024.

"I understand his fear 100000%. I'm terrified of dogs, and people LOVE to act like this fear doesn't exist," @Osariemenn shared.
