Dr. Dre on Drake Bringing Up Kendrick’s Family During Beef: ‘That Made Me Say, "Ah, Adios!"'

Dr. Dre is defending Kendrick Lamar.

The hip-hop mogul sat down for the debut episode of The Unusual Suspects With Kenya Barris and Malcolm Gladwell, during which Barris brought up K.Dot and Drake’s feud—and Dre’s penchant for Lamar’s No. 1 song “Not Like Us.”

“I love that record,” Dre said, per Billboard. “I’ma say this on camera. I don’t want to get negative. My whole shit is about being positive and moving forward and all that shit, but the fact I heard Drake say something negative about Kendrick’s wife and his kids, that made me say, ‘Ah, adios!'”

Throughout the rappers' beef, Drizzy made multiple allegations about Lamar's family on the diss tracks “Push Ups,” “Family Matters,” and “The Heart Part 6,” claiming Lamar abused his wife, Whitney Alford, and that Dave Free fathered one of their kids.

Dre himself has been accused of violence against women: Journalist Dee Barnes has repeatedly accused the "No Diggity" artist of physical assault. Barnes said Dre assaulted her at a party in Hollywood in 1989 after she reported on beef between N.W.A. and Ice Cube.

Dre showed his support for K.Dot prior to his comments on Barris and Gladwell’s podcast. The Death Row legend made a surprise guest appearance at Lamar's Pop Out concert last June where he introduced “Not Like Us.”

Lamar would go on to play the track five consecutive times during the show.

On the heels of his chart-topping album, GNX, the Compton native is gearing up to perform in February at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show in New Orleans.
