GB News star Eamonn Holmes has been moving on with his life after splitting from Ruth Langsford, but in a sad update, he has been reduced to using a wheelchair in recent weeks
Eamonn Holmes seems to leave GB News set live on airBroadcaster Eamonn Holmes has spoken candidly about needing to use a wheelchair to get around.
The Northern Irish broadcaster, 65, has been trying to move on with his life after splitting from long-term partner and TV co-host Ruth Langsford back in May. Now, the start is loved up with his new babe, relationship counsellor Katie Alexander.
But in recent weeks, Eamonn has been forced to using a wheelchair as he continues to suffer excruciating pain caused from back surgery. Speaking on his GB News Breakfast show, the former This Morning presenter kept things short and sweet as he spoke on how much he is relying on other people now he has reduced mobility.

The conversation was sparked after motorists were warned to avoid the M25 around London over the course of six hours this coming weekend for the festive season. But it was here when he realised the gravity of his new situation, after the train was said to be the best alternative for people travelling over the next few days.
"The train definitely could be a dream, but I'm now sort of wheelchair laden, you rely on a lot of people to get you on and off," Eamonn confessed. "It's very, very difficult doing that."
He also added: "I just threw that in...it's not a concern to anybody, but there we go." However, fellow host Isabel Webster was quick to jump to his defence, insisting: "Well, it's a consideration to lots of people in the same position as you Eamonn."
Eamonn has been dealing with mobility problems for years after having surgery on his back in September 2022, initially describing the procedure as having gone well. However, since then, the aches and seething pain has skyrocketed, leaving Eamonn wheelchair-bound to reduce his suffering.
Eamonn has been quick to say he is still able to walk, however, as he has been seen with a walker so that he can go for short distances. But in January, the TV presenter revealed how bad the pain can be, which is requiring him to use his new mobility aids.
Describing the experience as an "epidemic of pain", Eamonn said he was forced to accept the "harsh reality" that he may not be able to walk properly ever again. The mobility problems have caused a host of issues, including missing his own mother's funeral in November of 2023.
Writing at the time, he fumed: "It’s as if somebody up there is playing with my life. In the past year I’ve had an operation on my back which went wrong and has confined me to a wheelchair; I’ve fallen and broken my shoulder - honestly, you could not make it up."
It comes as his relationship with new babe Katie continues to go from strength to strength. The couple recently jetted off to Malta and shared in a host of fun activities as they raced around the island nation in Eamonn's trusty mobility scooter.
