Emily Atack was snubbed from reunion talks of the Inbetweeners despite recent reports of an upcoming film.

The mum of one, played Charlotte Hinchcliffe on the hit TV show between 2008 and 2010. But she was nowhere to be seen when the main characters reprised their roles in the first film in 2011 and the other in 2014. Talk of a reunion has been circulating for a while but most recently the lead characters made up of Simon Bird , Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison, have been forced to address the rumours.

But it seems no one has sent the memo to Emily. Capital Breakfast host Will Manning asked Emily if she would consider reprising her role if a reunion was to take place. And it was at this point she said: "Oh I haven’t heard about this, I don’t know. We’d all be quite a lot older now."

Revealing a hilarious behind-the-scenes secret, she swiftly went on to divulge how the boys hid the fact they were much older than the characters they were playing. She continued: "What was quite funny was when we filmed the series I was only 17, I’d just left school, but the boys were well into… I think they were in their 20’s, early thirties." Will then jumped in and said: "Isn't that mad how they pulled that off."

Emily added: "They were shaving their chests every morning in the makeup trucks. And shaving their faces within an inch of their lives. With he razors, every morning, lots of shaving rashes on that job." However, while fans would be over-excited at the prospect of another instalment of the film, Simon Bird, who played Will McKenzie, has dismissed the rumours.

He told the Mail: "I'm afraid to be the one pouring cold water on this but it's not happening. I can tell you emphatically that there are no prospects of a reunion." But in the future things could change as Simon said " it is up to the writers. " Simon went on to say: "We'd be happy to but it's not up to us, it's up to the writers, Iain and Damon, and I know they're both very busy these days. It's not more likely to happen now than it was ten years ago I'm afraid."

Emily may have missed out on being part of premature talks about a third film after her ex James Buckley allegedly axed her from the 10th anniversary reunion in 2019. At the time, a source told The Sun: "Emily got a call from producers 24 hours before she was due on set. They were deeply embarrassed and apologetic. They had to explain that James had asked she be taken off the show."

The pair kissed a couple of times when they were both single but James allegedly didn't want it to become a talking point on set, or with his wife. The source continued: "The kissing meant nothing to Emily and has never been an issue for her. She was very taken aback to be told she wasn’t needed, and genuinely gutted. She thought everything was good to go, and was looking forward to reuniting with the guys."

Speaking about her being dropped from the anniversary reunion, she told Capital FM in 2018: "Unfortunately, I don't really know what happened there. I was booked to do it, was very much looking forward to doing it and then the day before I was told I was no longer needed for it."

She added: "It's alright these things do happen and I think they just decided to go a different route with it, I don't know, or it was to do with production timings and things. These things do happen and they're just doing a different route I think and I wish them all the best and I know it's going to be great and the fans won't be disappointed."
