There’s no escaping the fact we’re fully into the autumn weather now, with all of us battling against rainy morning and cold chills every day. One thing that’s an essential this time of year is a great pair of boots, and model Emma Louise Connolly has shared the pair that she’s been wearing on repeat for years.
Emma shared a snap of herself wearing the Coda Chelsea Boot from Bash over on Instagram, writing: “These boots are four years old from Bash, they are an investment but still my favourite boots year after year.” The Bash Chelsea boots will set you back £380, which as Emma says is a bit of a splurge, however they’re so well designed that they will last you a lifetime, making them worth the initial upfront cost.

Made from real calfskin from Italian LWG-certified tanneries, the Coda Chelsea Boots are hard-wearing and sturdy, with the leather giving you plenty of protection from the cold and the rain. They also have a chunky ridged sole made from rubber which gives you plenty of grip in slippery conditions caused by rain and fallen leaves, making them the perfect autmn/winter boot.
Despite their hardy rubber sole, the Bash boots also have a foam centre, which makes them more lightweight and flexible so you shouldn’t get any aches and pains. The calfskin leather is supple enough to move with you to prevent rubbing or chafing, and will age naturally the longer you have them, giving them a laid back, lived-in look.

And – a bonus for those who struggle with shoes that fit properly – the boots also come in half sizes from a 3.5 to a 7.5.
As well as being wildly practical for the miserable weather we’re having, the Chelsea boots are also so versatile and easy to style. They have a grungy look that works with everything from wide-leg jeans and a jumper to midi dresses and overcoats
Emma did acknowledge that the boots are on the pricey side, and offered a more affordable alternative for anyone wanting to copy her look without splashing out. “Linked a high street dupe for £65,” the model wrote, before directing her followers to Marks and Spencer’s Leather Chelsea Round Toe Ankle Boots . The M&S boots are also made from real leather and have a similar look to Emma’s Bash pair, and they even come in full and half sizes from a UK3 to a UK8.
