Emmerdale actress Daisy Campbell, who played Amelia Spencer in the ITV soap, has spoken out on how "devastated" she was when she was told she was being written out of the show

The actress, who played Amelia Spencer for 13 years, was devastated by her departure and even asked bosses to kill off her character.
However, her exit led to her reconnecting with an old school friend, Nick, who is now her boyfriend. Speaking to The Sun, Daisy said: "It's been quite a year. I was always so focused on my career."
She added: "Finding love just happens when you don't expect it. I first met Nick at school - he was a couple of years above me." The couple are now planning a trip to New York to start 2025, and Daisy believes "everything happens for a reason".
She said: "It wasn't my decision to leave the show but I've become a big believer in things happening for a reason.", reports Birmingham Live. Recalling the moment she found out she was leaving the show, Daisy said: "I didn't see it coming. Then I got an email for me to go upstairs for a meeting. My heart just sank, I thought this doesn't sound very good."
She revealed: "I asked to be killed off. But that's not what they wanted to do, and of course I respected that." Daisy added: "Now I'm glad the door has been left open because who knows what might happen."
She confessed that discussing her exit is difficult, describing her departure from the soap as a tough experience.
