Everything We Know About a ‘Good Luck Charlie’ Reboot: Cast Quotes, Plot, More

Good Luck Charlie is a Disney Channel fan fav, following the adventures of the Duncan family, who make a personalized video diary for baby sister Charlie. Starring Bridgit Mendler, Shane Harper, Samantha Boscarino, Jason Dolley, Bradley Steven Perry and Mia Talerico, the series premiered in April 2010 and went on for four seasons before it ended in February 2014 — and since then, fans are dying for a comeback of the Duncans. That being said, will the cast be getting the Disney reboot treatment any time soon?

What Has the Cast of ‘Good Luck Charlie’ Said of Reboot?

While at the red carpet premiere of another Disney spinoff, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, Jason spoke about the possibility of a Good Luck Charlie reunion!

“I think there’s plenty of interesting stories to be told,” the actor behind PJ Duncan told Deadline. “Personally, I’m interested in what PJ’s trajectory looks like as a chef. How far towards Gordon Ramsay does he go? I would just love to work with those people again. I think we would all do it.”

The cast is still super close to this day, and often reunite. One of their biggest reunions took place virtually in May 2020, where they spoke about some of their fav memories of the show.

“The creators [Phil Baker and Drew Vaupen] always wanted it to be an ensemble and have each character have something to say. I also really attribute that to our director and our various other writers and people behind the scenes who allowed us to really form out these characters, “ Bridgit said of the show during the reunion, per Entertainment Tonight. “I’m just so grateful for that opportunity as a young actress to be able to spend so much time developing a character. Also, they were trying to entertain a family audience. They weren’t just trying to please kids, they were trying to reach everybody.”

When they were shooting the show, Mia (who played Charlie) was so young she never did interviews with the cast. During the reunion, Bradley noted: “Yeah, this is a trip right now! We have never done an interview with Mia and had a full conversation like this. This is bizarre!”

What Has Bridgit Mendler Said of ‘Good Luck Charlie’ Reboot?

The only cast member that may be hard to pin down for a reboot is Bridgit, who played Teddy Duncan.

Bridgit has stepped away from the spotlight after her time on Disney, and went on to focus on her studies, graduating from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2020, and Harvard in 2024. She has also gone on to launch a space tech startup called Northwood Space, where the company is “rethinking shared infrastructure for satellite backhaul to expand access to space,” per its website.

While we know Bridgit is still friendly with her former Good Luck Charlie costars, we think she’ll most likely be sitting the reboot out — to focus on, you know, saving the world.
