There are several teams around the league interested in pursuing former New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones after he clears waivers. The Baltimore Ravens, Las Vegas Raiders, Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, and the San Francisco 49ers are expected to be in the race for Jones.

Teams are expected to wait until Jones clears waivers because if a team were to grab him before then, he would be owed $11.83 million remaining on his contract.
Jones will be able to sign with a new team starting Monday at 4:01 PM ET when he becomes a free agent and is projected to be in high demand as a top-tier backup. Interested teams are hoping to aid Jones in developing an offensive system where he can learn and grow as a quarterback.
Baltimore could be a good fit for Jones since his athleticism and speed pair well with the Ravens offense. Lamar Jackson already has a backup in Josh Johnson, but if Jones was signed to the practice squad, he could very well take the backup role.
The 49ers need a sufficient backup for quarterback Brock Purdy, who is dealing with a shoulder injury. Purdy is likely to return next Sunday against the Buffalo Bills; however, if things take a turn for the worst, Jones landing in San Francisco would make a lot of sense.
With Purdy out this Sunday, Brandon Allen will start under center for the 49ers. Purdy will be re-evaluated Monday, but his game status for Week 13 remains uncertain. All signs point to the 49ers seriously pursuing Jones.
The Raiders are looking for a future franchise quarterback. While Jones may not fit that role, he could certainly audition and prove he is the right man for the job. Jones joining the Raiders could be a good fit for both parties.
The Lions and Dolphins are also among the interested teams. As the rest of Week 12 unfolds, significant quarterback injuries should be monitored as Jones is set to clear waivers Monday afternoon.
Although the New York era is done for Jones, the latest reports indicate there is a bright future for the former Giants quarterback. Things didn't quite work in New York, but Jones had the opportunity to develop in a new organization.
