As the Los Angeles wildfires rage on, a number of celebrities have caused fury to erupt over their alleged wasteful behaviour.

Famous faces such as Kim Kardashian have been targeted online for their apparent "entitled" antics after been accused of squandering water supplies. It comes after water-conserving measures were put in place in 2022.

The rules meant that residents were restricted to watering their gardens twice a week and only for eight minutes at a time. However, some have claimed celebrities have ignored this rule and said they may have wasted vital water resources that could have been used to help fight the devastating wildfires.

Reality TV star Kim, who owns a $60million property in The Oaks, was previously hit with a huge fine for her overuse. The area is near the epicentre of the tragic fires that have swept. the region. In 2022, Kim was fined for using 232,000 gallons of water more than her allowed allocation. Other famous faces to be hit with fine over their usage include Sylvester Stallone and Kevin Hart.

Despite Kim reportedly installing new water-saving measures following her fine, some have hit out at her antics - along with other celebrities. A neighbour of Kim's told the Mail on Sunday: "These celebrities have a sense of entitlement. Everyone was told to cut back on water precisely for this situation, to preserve it to fight fires. They carried on watering because they could afford the fines."

Despite the uproar, Kim's sister, Khloe Kardashian, was among the high-profile celebrities hitting out at the LA politicians in the midst of the disaster. She branded Mayor Bass a "joke". Taking to Instagram, Khloe shared a clip of an interview by Gigi Graciette who shared her concerns, echoing the words of Fire Chief Kirstin Crowley. The Fire Chief had earlier hit out at the city's leadership.

In the rant, she had admitted it had failed those affected by the fires and prevented the LA Fire Department from effectively doing its job. And Khloe agreed, saying: "I stand by YOU Chief Crowley!!!! You spoke the truth and you had tears in your eyes because I can tell you didn't even want to say that but it was THE TRUTH!!!! Thank you for being honest @losangelesfiredepartmnet Chief Crowley. Mayor Bass you are a joke!!!!" She then added further posts in which she praised the rescue services for their efforts.

The death toll from the California wildfires has been confirmed to have risen to 16 by local officials. The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office confirmed over the weekend that the death toll from the now six wildfires has risen, with the office attributing all of the deaths to the two largest blazes - the Palisades and Eaton fires.
