Spencer Pratt has asked his social media followers for their help making cash after watching his home burn to the ground.
The former star of The Hills and his wife Heidi Montag lost their home to the devastating blazes earlier in the week. They are among the thousands of people to have lost their properties, with 16 people also confirmed to have died.
Now, as the fire rages on, the reality TV star, 41, has taken to TikTok to ask his followers to watch and like a previous video shared to his account. The upload featured the song titled What It Feels Like, by Aly & AJ.

So, if you’re bored, please go like that last video. It’s a great song actually and Aly & AJ wear Pratt Daddy Crystals — my friend Amber goes to all their shows and gives them all crystals so it’s kind of an authentic promo since they wear my crystals. I also want to get that $1,100.”
His request however was met with backlash by online users. Commenting on the criticism, Spencer said: "Some demonic monster just wrote on my IG and tagged me, ‘Of course Spencer’s gonna milk his burned down house for every dollar it’s worth.’ Duh. Duh. That’s right. Let me figure out every dollar I can get'.
“How do you people not have brains? Are you just the stupidest living creatures? Of course I’m trying to get money to pay for my life with my family because our house and all of our possessions burned down. And if I can do it on social media, which I’ve been making the only money I’ve made for years now continuously, showing my journey of our house burning down and all of our possessions, do you not think I’m going to keep milking it for every dollar?”
He finished by saying: "I’d rather have my house and no social media, let me tell you that much. I’d rather have everything in my house and delete all these stupid apps. I would much rather that. So, yes, I will continue ‘milking’ our misery on social media.”
Spencer also hit out at those trolling him for his wealth, saying he is far from rich. He claimed online reports about his financial situation are inaccurate. TikTok content creators reportedly receive a small fee for videos that last more than one minute and are viewed by followers for more than five seconds - and Spencer has claimed he is making such videos in a desperate effort to earn some money.
Speaking to the camera from a beach, he said: "You know, one of my favourite things about my house burning down? Ever since 2010 when The Hills was cancelled, everyone on social media and Google that I’ve ever read about myself is that I’m a broke nobody. But then it takes all of our possessions and house burning down and now on all my comments section, everyone’s like ‘What are you crying about? You’re a rich celebrity.’ My gosh! What a re-brand."
