Gladiators star Diane Youdale has opened up about the end of her recent marriage to Zoe Gilbert.
The couple, who met in a Tesco supermarket and married in July 2023, separated just two months later. Diane attributes the split to ongoing jealousy from Zoe regarding her past relationships, which she felt eroded her sense of self.
Diane proposed to Zoe after four months of dating. They married in a private ceremony with just six close friends and family members in attendance, but they parted ways in September 2023.
Diane shared that she was initially attracted to her partner's humour and intelligence, and was fully committed to the relationship. She tends to throw herself in quickly, but admitted she began to feel more passive, as she’s usually independent and enjoys activities like walking, which she stopped doing.

Instagram)Diane explained how Zoe's jealousy over her past relationships began to take a toll, she told The Sun : “She would say 'what about Sonia? What about Lisa?' These are exes, professionally and personally. I was like: ‘I don't go on at you about your past I'm not insecure about that.’ But it was endless.
"I lost ‘me’ really quickly. And that is possibly that something I've done in relationships in the past as well. What is the point in being with somebody in the now and having a future ahead of you if all you want to do is talk about that person's past?”
Despite efforts to reconcile, Diane filed for divorce on their first wedding anniversary. Zoe contests this account, stating her frustration stemmed from learning about Diane's ex-partners through the media, feeling misled rather than jealous. Zoe stated: “I was continually lied to about these exes. I only found out about them when it came out in the press."
A source told Daily Mail : "Diane and Zoe just realised it wasn't to be. They didn't see any point carrying on so decided to end their marriage. It's sad, especially as they were only married for nearly 18 months, but they just weren't getting on. On reflection, they may have rushed into making their relationship official but there's no regrets or hard feelings between them."
Diane previously shared details of their wedding as she told Closer magazine : "We're married! We kept it very, very quiet. Literally nine people on the planet knew. We wanted to keep it really tiny." She didn't wear a dress on her big day, opting for a "boho top and trousers" while Zoe wore "brogues and chinos", looking "ever so smart".
The couple enjoyed a quick honeymoon away in Northumbria before spending some time with family and friends, including some of Jet's former Gladiator co-stars. They later appeared on ITV's Lorraine where they opened up on the whirlwind relationship. Diane shared to Zoe: "I asked you four months in… I just knew. The proposal was really boring, just in the kitchen over a glass of wine, you know, lets do this."
