Gladiators star Jet reveals reason behind shock split from wife she met in Tesco

Gladiators star, Jet, has lifted the lid on her shock split from her wife, who 'swept her off her feet' in Tesco.

The 90s pin-up, real name Diane Youdale, 54, got hitched to Zoe Gilbert, 50, after bumping into the teacher in the carpark of her local supermarket after a Pilates class. However, after just 18 months of marriage, they've called it quits - and now Diane has revealed why.

Claiming Zoe was jealous of her previous partners, which led to rows, she said of their whirlwind romance: "I knew in my heart I wanted to be with her for the rest of my life, and I proposed. She was funny, had a great mind, she made me laugh a lot and I was fully invested in the relationship. I tend to jump in both feet, pretty quick."

Continuing in The Sun, she said: “But I became a bit of a passenger, I'm usually independent, proactive, and there's things I like to do like walking, but I stopped doing all that. She would say 'what about Sonia? What about Lisa?' These are exes, professionally and personally. I was like: ‘I don't go on at you about your past. I'm not insecure about that.’"

Admitting that she 'lost herself' in the relationship, which Diane says she had done in the past, the star conceded there was no point in looking forward to the future with Zoe when all the teacher wanted to do was 'think about the past'.

The original star of the hit 90s show, Gladiators, Diane tied the knot with her wife during an intimate ceremony in July 2023. Jet proposed to Zoe after four months of dating and the couple wed in a secret in front of just six of their friends and family.

Speaking previously about meeting Zoe, Diane said she found love in the most unlikeliest of places when they met in a Tesco car park after Diane had finished a Pilates class. Diane confessed she "just knew" Zoe was the One, adding that she's always felt "relaxed" about her sexuality and didn't feel the need to "keep it a secret". The star shared: "I don't have any prejudices against male or female but I'm definitely more comfortable in my life now with Zoe."

Diane previously shared details of their wedding as she told Closer magazine it was a no-frills affair. Lifting the lid on the big day, she said: "We're married! We kept it very, very quiet. Literally nine people on the planet knew. We wanted to keep it really tiny." She didn't wear a dress on her big day, opting for a "boho top and trousers" while Zoe wore "brogues and chinos", looking "ever so smart".

However, sadly, things went south for the couple soon after. Revealing the newlyweds just "weren't getting on", a source told the Daily Mail: "Diane and Zoe just realised it wasn't to be. They didn't see any point carrying on so decided to end their marriage. It's sad, especially as they were only married for nearly 18 months, but they just weren't getting on."
