Little Mix icon Jade Thirwall has released a video showing her immediate reaction to her BRITs honour - and she was as moved as we are.
The X Factor star shared the video on X, formerly known as Twitter, showing her with loose wavy hair and flawless eyeliner, wrapped up in a long wintery coat.
Jade was just walking down the street when she got the big news, seemingly with a group of her pals. “It’s happening… dream come true,” she captioned the clip along with some crying emojis.
“You’re gonna be performing on the BRITs!” the person filming announced as Jade stood on the pavement.
The singer immediately stopped walking, and looked incredibly shocked. “Are you joking? Are you actually joking?” she begged.
As her friend gave the affirmative, Jade almost folded in half from the shock, and rose trying to hide her face in her hood. “Honestly?” she asked, before beginning to cry. “She’s performing at the BRITs,” another friend exclaimed as Jade wept with happiness.
Alongside performing, this is the first year Jade has got a solo nomination for her music. Speaking on the Bring on the BRITs with Mastercard: The 2025 nominations livestream with presenter Sian Welby, she said: “As a band we were nominated a few times and that’s amazing and we have won three brit awards over the last 10 years, but when it is for your own music and my own personal experiences it does hit different and it feels special.”
She continued: “When I first started this solo journey, I was writing a lot of music to exist outside of the group and fit as my own but the minute I wrote Angels of the Dream - that is when I knew that this is my sound.”
The BRIT Awards are taking place on March 1 this year, at London's O2 Alongside Jade, viewers will be able to see live performances from Myles Smith, Teddy Swims, The Last Dinner Party and Shaboozey - all performing some of their recent and biggest hits.
This year, Myles has already bagged the BRITs Rising Star Award and is also going up against some huge names in three categories including Best New Artist, Pop Act and Song of the Year. Jade will be running the show with her debut hit, Angel Of My Dreams.
"I've honestly manifested every day since the release of Angel Of My Dreams to perform at the BRIT Awards. I cried when I found out. I can't wait to bring a huge, chaotic pop moment to the BRITs stage," Jade said of her opportunity to perform. Meanwhile, Shaboozey commented: "I'm beyond grateful and humbled to not only be nominated for a BRIT Award but to take the stage. This past year has been huge for me with my records getting love from all over the world and now I can celebrate with my friends and fans in London.”
Angel of My Dreams marks Jade's first solo single since she rose to fame as a contestant on the X Factor in 2011, and it seems she’s only getting bigger and better from here.
