Grammys: All the Details of the Night’s Best-Dressed Artists

3 hours ago 5

Other than one exceedingly unnecessary moment on the 2025 Grammys red carpet, the style of the night went about as expected, with many artists opting for sleek looks largely in black to communicate a toned-down vibe that felt respectful in the wake of the devastating impact of the L.A. wildfires.

“Over the top” is a phrase that often works perfectly to describe Grammys red-carpet style, and that indeed was true in a few examples of artists determined to stick with the vibe that works for them. Chappell Roan did not deviate from her camp-meets-vintage aesthetic, wearing a voluminous vintage Jean Paul Gaultier gown from 2003, embellished with a screen print of Degas ballerinas on the skirt and topped by the ostrich-feather headdress that Gaultier used on that original runway. Kacey Musgraves, meanwhile, embraced her country roots in one detail of her Ralph Lauren ensemble, which paired an embellished skirt and simple white tank with an artful belt that is a collab between Lauren, Navajo silversmith Jimmy Begay, Jr., and the Shiprock Santa Fe Gallery.

Prior to the 2025 Grammys

Nominated for six Grammys this year, Swift once again chose Vivienne Westwood, this time in draped and sequined red as a follow-up to the white corset gown from the British label that the superstar wore to the 2024 Grammys. Swift also partnered again with jeweler Lorraine Schwartz on custom jewels, this time highlighting more than 60 carats of rubies in waterfall earrings, a ruby ring and a natural spinel ring. But the ruby-accented leg chain was the true custom piece as it featured a jeweled “T” as a pendant. Unsurprisingly, the overall look set off a social-media frenzy, as fans speculated whether Swift’s choice of color was meant as a nod to the red of boyfriend Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs uniform as he heads to the February 9 Super Bowl LIX, and whether that “T” indeed stands for “Taylor” or “Travis.” Swift finished the look with sandals by Casadei.

Cardi B was undeniably a wow when she hit the red carpet in a tiger-stripe gown that is a custom design by Roberto Cavalli. Creative director Fausto Puglisi combined hand-embroidered sequins with a cascade of multi-hued feathers, while the asymmetric placement of the shoulder straps is likewise intentional. The rapper finished the look with Chocolate Swirl earrings by Le Vian.

Willow Smith in McQueen and Fleur du Mal

Willow Smith is quickly evolving into a style queen, and no one who saw the double nominee at the 2025 Grammys could argue that. Smith’s look was equal parts tailored and scintillating, combining a coat from McQueen’s Autumn/Winter 2024 collection with custom Fleur du Mal lingerie featuring a lush rhinestone beading.

Lady Gaga in Vivienne Westwood

Among the final arrivals on the 2025 Grammys red carpet, Lady Gaga seemed to be channeling a fierce warrior princess in her laced and corseted Vivienne Westwood gown. (Anyone who caught the Mastercard-sponsored commercial featuring “Abracadabra” from Gaga’s new album, Mayhem, can see the aesthetic fits her upcoming release, dropping March 7.) Continuing her history of wearing important Tiffany & Co. jewels to red-carpet events, Gaga also secured a highly special necklace from the jewelry house, an archival piece crafted by Meta Overbeck, who worked for Louis Comfort Tiffany himself in the early part of the 20th century. Featuring a tourmaline set in gold and surrounded by pearls and enamels, the early-1930s necklace is paired with earrings set with yellow and white diamonds and a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany & Co. Sixteen Stone ring highlighting diamonds and tsavorites.

Sabrina Carpenter in J.W. Anderson

In pale blue satin and adorned with feathers, it was undeniably among the most girlish looks on the red carpet — but that explains Sabrina Carpenter’s style perfectly. Without question, the best detail on this J.W. Anderson gown was its low, open back — all the better to showcase a Chopard diamond sautoir necklace that was looped through the halter neckline in front, and then draped down the back, ending in a pendant featuring a 50-carat, D-flawless, brilliant-cut diamond. Carpenter finished the look with diamond earrings and a diamond ring, also from Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie collection.

Miley Cyrus in Saint Laurent

Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga both made bangs one of the key beauty trends at the 2025 Grammys, while Cyrus continues to channel sleek, sexy style with the looks she chooses for the music industry’s biggest night. This year it was a cut-out dress in leather from Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello, paired with Salomé wedge sandals in satin crepe and leather, also by the designer. Cyrus finished the look with a grouping of Elsa Peretti jewels in yellow gold by Tiffany & Co.

Doechii in Thom Browne

Thom Browne’s aesthetic is quite specific: crisp, slim and precise, just for starters. And on Doechii at the 2025 Grammys, the label looked absolutely perfect. The winner of best rap album wore a custom wool corset dress in a dark grey pinstripe, accented with exaggerated hips and tricolor lacing, all over the label’s classic white oxford shirt, a grey pinstripe wool tie and platform penny loafers. Doechii finished the look with diamonds by David Yurman and Messika.

Gracie Abrams in Chanel

Nominated for best pop duo/group performance at the 2025 Grammys, Gracie Abrams looked ethereal in head-to-toe Chanel, a custom butter-hued dress in chiffon, adorned with a chiffon hood and finished with a belt in black velvet, a satin camellia and jeweled buttons. Abrams’ shoes and fine and high jewelry also were by Chanel.

Charlotte Lawrence in Saint Laurent

Among the night’s chicly simply looks, Charlotte Lawrence wore a thin-strapped gown and matching cape in silk crepe from Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello. Against this backdrop, Lawrence added the wow of a lengthy high-jewelry Serpenti necklace by Bulgari, crafted of diamonds set in 18-karat white gold.

Alicia Keys in Dolce & Gabbana

At the other end of chicly simple, Alicia Keys opted for the lush grandeur of the wide corset belt and headdress earrings, both crafted in gold filigree, pieces that are key to Dolce & Gabbana’s 2024 Alta Moda Sardinia collection and worn over the label’s black silk cady gown.

Kelsea Ballerini in Tamara Ralph Couture

Swift wasn’t the only star who excelled with a minidress choice. A Grammy nominee for best country duo/group performance, Kelsea Ballerini exuded glamour in a beaded minidress with a deep-V shaped neckline, worn with an ivory silk-taffeta wrap, all from Tamara Ralph’s Autumn/Winter 2024-25 Couture collection. Ballerini finished the look with Christian Louboutin‘s Kate Max pumps and jewels by Jared Atelier.

Charli XCX in Jean Paul Gaultier

Ludovic de Saint Sernin was the guest designer for the Jean Paul Gaultier haute-couture presentation that just unspooled on January 29 in Paris. Fresh off that runway and the show’s “shipwreck” theme, Charlie XCX wore this blue-grey gown from the collection, a deep corset surrounded by more than 230 meters of hand-shredded tulle. The “Brat” singer paired the look with open-toed boots and jewels set with yellow and white diamonds from Bucherer Fine Jewellery.

Shaboozey in custom Diesel

Amid a toned-down style directive that resulted in most men opting for classic black or ivory tuxedo jackets, Shaboozey stood out in a glen-plaid leather double-breasted jacket with a matching fringed scarf, a custom design by Diesel. Nominated for five awards at the 2025 Grammys, he finished his look with Jacob & Co.’s Ashoka Diamond Boutique Watch and the Lotus Diamond Brooch by De Beers Jewelry.
