Heidi Klum recently shared some candid thoughts on her personal life, speaking about her fulfilling relationship with her husband, Tom Kaulitz, as well as her experiences facing racial bias during her previous marriage to Seal.
The 51-year-old supermodel, who has been married to the 35-year-old musician for five years, revealed that their relationship has brought renewed energy into her life.
"I have no back or knee pain, and I have my husband," Klum laughed in an interview with The Times, happily sharing that their intimacy has kept her feeling young.
Klum dismissed the term "toy boy" often associated with women dating younger men, explaining that their age difference isn't a factor in their happy relationship.
Klum's reflections on her past marriage to British singer Seal highlight another side of her experiences. The couple, married from 2005 to 2014, share four children: Leni, 20, Henry, 18, Johan, 17, and Lou, 14.
During her time with Seal, Klum recalled facing unexpected scrutiny, noting that they were targets of criticism and prejudice.
"I discovered racism both ways: some wanted him to be with a woman of color, others wanted me to be with a white man," she shared.
Raising a multiracial family in the public eye, Klum and Seal encountered backlash, even over things like how she styled their children's hair.
"We didn't want to be some perfect poster for integration," she explained, "we just wanted a family." This experience of dealing with racial biases brought an unexpected layer of complexity to their lives.
Strained relationship with Seal
Klum and Seal's relationship, post-divorce, has had its difficulties, especially with co-parenting.
In 2021, Seal expressed frustration over their attempts to work together in raising their children, stating that teamwork with Klum has not been easy.
"If both parents are a team, then it's really easy... but you have to be a team," he shared with Us Weekly, explaining that without cooperation, co-parenting can become challenging.
He revealed that their bond lacked that teamwork, making shared parenting more complicated than it might have been otherwise.
A notable instance of tension came when Klum planned to take the children to Germany for filming in 2020. Seal initially opposed this, leading to a court case that Klum ultimately won.
Halloween Queen
Outside of her personal revelations, Klum recently returned to her title as the "Queen of Halloween" with her elaborate costume at her annual Halloween bash. For the event, she made a grand entrance as E.T., with Kaulitz joining her in a coordinating look.
Known for her commitment to Halloween, Klum later swapped her alien costume for a more comfortable yet thematic look, featuring an oversized E.T.-print T-shirt, fishnet tights, and boots, allowing her to mingle with guests.
Klum's Halloween parties have become a much-anticipated tradition in Hollywood, with celebrities and fans alike looking forward to her jaw-dropping transformations each year.
Through these glimpses into her life, from her reflections on love and family to her legendary Halloween appearances, Heidi Klum continues to be an inspiring and multi-dimensional figure in both fashion and family life.
