I'm A Celeb fans threaten to 'boycott' next series if iconic Olympian is cast

5 days ago 11

A "boycott" could be on the cards for I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! fans if bosses cast controversial Olympic breakdancer Raygun.

The UK version of the show is well under way, with the full line-up including Coleen Rooney and GK Barry all toughing it in the jungle Down Under. But the Australian version of the show is set to start soon, and show bosses have been teasing the line-up.

Hosts Robert Irwin and Julia Morris will soon welcome a new batch of stars and have released a list of teasers. There's a "comedy genius", a "radio star", a "leading lady" and a "matinée idol" on there.

But a separate teaser trailer appears to confirm Raygun will be heading into the jungle.

Raygun

Breakdancer Raygun caused controversy with her basic routine at the Olympics

The teaser spoke of a "headline-grabbing Olympian" who "loves freestyle". In another hint at Raygun's dance style, the teaser added: "But will the jungle break them?"

Fans are convinced this means Raygun – real name Rachael Gunn – is all but confirmed. And it's safe to say they're not excited.

"I will not watch if Raygun goes into the jungle," one person said. Another wrote: "I'm boycotting the show if it's Raygun."

A third said: "Please not the 'breakdancer'. Don't make me boycott for the first time ever. Nooo!" And someone else said: "Geez I hope not, she's not a celebrity."

Raygun has said she "doesn't think reality TV is the space for her" though during a chat with Hit Network's Fifi, Fev and Nick. However it was recently reported by Yahoo that she was "very close" to signing a "six-figure" deal to appear.

Other rumoured names include RuPaul's Drag Race star Kween Kong and Neighbours icon Ryan Moloney. There's also Australian Idol star Rob Mills and model Nicky Whelan.

The show has previously featured British stars, too. Geordie Shore's Nathan Henry appeared in 2023 and Joey Essex (surprise, surprise) entered the Aussie version of the show the year before.
