Former I'm A Celebrity campmate Melvin Odoom has teased that Carol Vorderman hasn't replied to him reaching out in a message to her.
BBC Radio presenter Melvin, 44, teased whilst in the jungle on the ITV show last year that the former Countdown host Carol, 64, was his 'celebrity crush'. And he even took a pillowcase with a photo of her on it with him to camp.
His campmates in Australia encouraged him to pursue Carol, who, watching from the UK, suggested at the time that she found the situation amusing. She also hinted that they could connect on social media upon his return.
Melvin shared an update on the latest episode of the Saving Grace podcast. Asked about Carol by podcast host GK Barry, who was on I'm A Celebrity with him, he said that she hasn't replied to a message that he sent weeks ago.
He said: "You lot were putting pressuring on me to call her or send a message, and so I thought 'let me wait until I come home'. I sent her a DM on Instagram. Bear in mind like [my family and friends] were looking after my page [while I was away].
"And they were like 'she's lovely, she was like replying to messages'. I was thinking 'great. I'm in'. I sent her a message saying 'thanks for being a great sport but y'know here's my number, give me a little call'. She's not read it. It's been three weeks."
Melvin added: "Why would you not even just read it?" He went on to tease that he's continued to check for any reply in the weeks since he sent the message. He told GK on the podcast: "I check it once a week to see [if she's replied]!"

Getty Images)After expressing his admiration for Carol in the jungle, Melvin revealed shortly after his departure that she had sent him a direct message on the platform. He said in a video: "I'm about to check my DMs now and I've notice there's a message from Vorders herself." Melvin later added: "So someone's looking after my page and she goes 'please give him my best. He's done so well'."
Carol had expressed support for Melvin whilst he was a campmate and addressed being mentioned in scenes on the ITV show. She said in one video message: "Oh Melvin! I'm blushing redder than that leatherette dress I'm wearing on your pillowcase but I'll be rooting for you all the way through and see you on the other side ... in the two consonants DM."
She teased in a post that included laughing emojis: "Well hello @melvinodoom, or shall I say Melvin Vorderman or Jungle Man which sounds very much like Vorder Man? I'm having so much fun watching the camp mates having a joke with Melvin in the @imacelebrity jungle."
