Today, we are delighted to announce that casualty insurance-linked securities (ILS) and investment opportunities in parametric risk transfer structures, will be the focus of two main panel sessions at our upcoming Artemis ILS NYC 2025 conference in New York on February 7th next year.
As previously announced, for 2025 our ILS NYC conference theme will focus on capturing opportunities in catastrophe bonds and insurance-linked securities (ILS), both established and new and we will focus some of the day on emerging segments of the ILS asset class.
While we’ve discussed both casualty insurance-linked securities (ILS) and parametric risk transfer structures at our conferences in the past (right back to the start), this is the first time we are holding focused panel sessions dedicated to these topics at our New York event.
Our New York conference is our flagship event of the year and well-known for the quality of discussions held on stage, the quality of the audience in attendance and the quality of the networking opportunities that run throughout the day.
Last year, 4o0 people came through the doors of our ILS NYC 2024 conference and we anticipate similar numbers attending ILS NYC 2025.
Next year, ILS NYC 2025 is being held on February 7th 2025. On the day, we will be open from 8am for breakfast, with speaking sessions from 9am, interspersed with long networking breaks and a delicious lunch, then a cocktail reception to end the day from 5pm to 7pm when the doors finally close.
Casualty ILS is coming of age as a valuable diversifying investment opportunity and the reinsurance and ILS markets have increased their focus on this segment over the last few years.
With new casualty ILS structures and strategies emerging, pieces of the market chain to facilitate the transfer of longer-tailed risks to investors are now coming together, so it seems a good time to increase our focus on the topic in 2025.
Meanwhile, parametric structures have been a feature of the ILS market since the mid-1990’s, with some of the first catastrophe bonds adopting this trigger mechanism.
But parametric underwriting expertise is becoming increasingly sophisticated, across insurance and reinsurance markets, while again some of the structural component of use across ILS are lending themselves to helping underwriting experts access the capital markets, to source more capacity for risks in parametric form.
Alongside these trends, investor appetite for access to insurance-linked returns remains elevated, meaning any emerging or developing category of the market is coming under increasing scrutiny and focus, as new investment opportunities are sought out to be captured.
Hence, casualty ILS and parametric ILS investment opportunities fit well into our conference theme of “Capturing opportunities (established and new)” for ILS NYC 2025.
