Liam Payne's heartbroken dad Geoff has spent several days in Argentina after his son’s tragic death.
The 31-year-old singer plunged to his death on 16 October from his hotel room balcony in Buenos Aires, and an investigation is currently ongoing into his death. Officials stated they aren’t looking for anyone else in relation to his death, but they are reportedly trying to track down who sold drugs - including pink cocaine - to Liam.
The One Direction star’s dad Geoff flew to Argentina just hours after news of Liam’s shock death broke, as he began the heartbreaking process of bringing their son’s body back to the UK. It was reported that both Geoff and Liam’s mother Karen had left their home in Wolverhampton to board a flight to Buenos Aires, but so far, only Geoff has been seen in the Argentine capital.

He then made a painful visit to the prosecutor's office to discuss details of the investigation into his son’s death, and Geoff later made his way to the CasaSur Hotel as he looked at the tributes left by devastated fans. A huge crowd had gathered around the grieving father, leading to determined One Direction fans to form a barrier around Geoff so he could have some privacy.

Geoff then headed to a shopping mall with a police escort, which was arranged by the prosecutor's office, and was driven around Buenos Aires to take in the sights that his son had enjoyed in the days leading up to his death. He then returned to his hotel, and resumed the long process of bringing Liam’s body back to the UK.

It was reported Liam’s funeral will take place early next month, but the investigation into his death is still ongoing, and toxicology results aren’t due back until December at the earliest.
On Monday, Liam’s father then visited prosecutor Andrés Madrea to further discuss his son’s death, and he was told of the status of the tests carried out on samples from the singer’s body. It was reported that toxicology results had suggested pink cocaine was in Liam’s system at the time of his death, and on Tuesday, Geoff returned to the prosecutor’s office for a six-hour meeting.
