Wicked will be coming to digital, and the movie everybody is talking about is already available for pre-order on certain Video on Demand platforms like Prime Video.
However, there's a catch because there is currently no exact release date for when it'll land on the platforms, which means you can place your pre-order, but it's uncertain when it will arrive.
Wicked's still dominating the box office, having made $531.3 million worldwide since it was released in theaters on November 22. $365.1 million of that figure comes from domestic ticket sales, with the remaining $166.1 million coming internationally.
Directed by Jon M. Chu, Wicked is an adaptation of the Broadway musical featuring the music and lyrics of Stephen Schwartz, with a script penned by Winnie Holzman. Based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel of the same name, Wickedfollows the life and times of Elphaba, or as we know her, The Wicked Witch.
Cynthia Erivo leads the film as Elphaba, with Ariana Grande starring as Glinda. They join fellow cast members Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, Jonathan Bailey, Jeff Goldblum, Peter Dinklage, and Michelle Yeoh.
Wicked is the first of two films, and this week, Wicked: Part Two got a new title and confirmed its release date. Ariana Grande says she hasn't seen Wicked: Part Two yet, saying, "I do know how it felt to experience it, and I'm still recovering."
Where Can I Watch Wicked?
Wicked is now available for pre-order on Video on Demand platforms. You can pre-order the movie for $29.99 on Prime Video, but an exact release date for when it will become available to watch has not yet been confirmed.
Wicked Physical Release Date
Wicked is now available for pre-order in DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD formats via digital retailers like Amazon and Walmart. However, an exact release date has yet to be confirmed.
It is unknown whether any bonus features will be on the discs.
Is Wicked Available to Stream in the US?
Wicked is not yet available to stream in the US. But, as a Universal release, it may end up on Peacock at a later date.
