Celebrity hairdresser Trevor Sorbie has declined chemotherapy treatment that could have potentially extended his life by "another month". The 76 year old, who is a member of the This Morning team, is battling bowel cancer that has metastasised to his liver.
In a candid interview with the Times, he expressed: "When I asked a nurse if I'd still be here at Christmas, she said, 'We don't know, Trevor'."
He continued, "And that annoyed me. I've got cancer in my body, but not in here. My brain is my engine and I'll go when I'm ready."
He revealed to the newspaper his wish to pass away at home and his decision against having a funeral.
Trevor further explained: "[They are] too upsetting. When the time comes, my ashes will be interred with [his wife] Carole's and our little dog.", reports OK!.

"But I'm going to defy medical science," he asserted. "If the cancer reaches my brain, then I'll accept it, but until then, I'm in charge, and I'm going on my terms."
Trevor, who has styled the locks of globally renowned figures such as the late Queen Elizabeth II and Helen Mirren, admitted to suffering from sleep deprivation for three days, partly due to steroids causing "mad insomnia" while reducing inflammation.
It was Carole who summoned an ambulance in 2019 when Trevor started bleeding profusely. Following his diagnosis later on, a surgeon excised a tumour from his bowel, and he was told there was a five per cent chance of recurrence - regrettably, it did return.
The stylist candidly shared details of his cancer diagnosis, telling the public: "I lost a lot of blood one night and was unusually disturbed, so I went to the hospital."

"They told me I had bowel cancer and I had a little panic attack. I looked at Carole, and she looked at me, we were both speechless, didn't know what to say. So I went and had a big gin and tonic."
Trevor has been familiar with cancer's impact since stepping back from salon work in 2009, choosing to dedicate his time to his charity, My New Hair, which he founded after styling a wig for his sister-in-law who underwent chemotherapy for bone cancer.
He has since trained an immense number of hairdressers not only in the art of cutting wigs but also in communicating with those facing life's final chapter.
