Jim Parsons ‘Does What Inspires Him Now’: Playing Sheldon Doesn’t Give Him ‘Inspiration’

After abandoning The Big Bang Theory in the CBS sitcom’s dying days, actor Jim Parsons now says he may reprise his breakout role as ultra-nerd Sheldon Cooper on a spinoff.

Producers of the wildly popular show are planning a third spinoff of the sitcom, adding to the recently ended Young Sheldon and the new series Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, which debuted on October 17.

The still-untitled spinoff recently signed actors Brian Posehn, Kevin Sussman and Lauren Lapkus, who all had recurring roles on the original Big Bang Theory. “I would never say never to anything, because life just changes so much,” he teases. A source notes Jim — once the highest paid T.V. star — has more than enough dough to say no to anything, and he still has some kissing up to do with Kaley and Johnny.

“Jim does what inspires him now,” reveals the insider about the Emmy winner, who’s currently starring with Katie Holmes in a Broadway revival of Our Town

“Then again, if they backed up the Brinks truck for him, it might be hard for him to say no!”
