Fern Britton has candidly discussed the inevitability of making mistakes, even if you're a royal.
In her new book The Older I Get... How I Repowered My Life, the former This Morning presenter reflected on her own blunders and the importance of embracing them as you get older.
She uses King Charles and Queen Camilla as prime examples of individuals who have stumbled along the way, writing: "First things first: we all make mistakes.
"A life without mess would not be worth living. The messy stuff in our lives challenges and teaches us. Failure is just a rehearsal for success."
"When I think about making mistakes, Queen Camilla comes to mind. She's made a hell of a mess. So has the King. So has everybody."
Fern, 67, went on to highlight the strength of Camilla, especially amid King Charles' battle with an undisclosed cancer.
"Suddenly the King is ill and – bang! – she's right there, front and centre as if she were born to it," she observed.
"She owns the role and has such warmth and approachability."

Fern, who shares her birthday with Camilla, commends the royal for "taking on the biggest role of her life" in her seventies after the Queen's passing in 2022.
"It is almost as if she is the poster girl for repowering," Fern added.
The author also went into detail about her personal slip-ups, from swearing on live TV to relatable parenting faux pas.
Fern shares twins Harry and Jack, 29, and daughter Grace, 26, with ex-husband Clive Jones, and her youngest child, Winnie, 23, with second husband Phil Vickery.

Reflecting on the experiences that shaped her, Fern added: "Some of them are tiny, some of them huge. Some of them funny, some mortifying.
Wisely, she admits to separating her past mistakes from her current reality, suggesting that ultimately, one has to find humour in life's follies.
Fern mused continued: "No matter how deeply ashamed you feel, after a while you generally have to laugh."
Fern Britton's book The Older I Get... How I Repowered My Life is available to pre-order ahead of its official release on November 7.
