Lauren Goodger breaks silence on ex Mark Wright's baby news with Michelle Keegan

TOWIE's Lauren Goodger has come forward to "set the record straight" following recent reports that her ex, Mark Wright and his wife Michelle Keegan are expecting their first child.

Despite rumours suggesting she was "devastated" by the news, Lauren insists this couldn't be further from the truth: "Let's get things straight. I'm not anxious, upset, or planning to leave Essex, and it didn't ruin my Christmas! "

While acknowledging public fascination with her past relationship with Mark, she told Closer magazine: "I get it - people will always be fascinated because Mark and I were on TV together and I always seem to get dragged back into stories about him, but how can I be devastated?"

Michelle and Mark announced their pregnancy last month in a post on Instagram

Dismissing claims that she's taken the news badly, she added: "I'm so happy he's going to be a dad, and I mean it. I've fallen in love and had two kids since (Lauren sadly lost her daughter Lorena after giving birth in July 2022 due to complications) and he's a married man. It doesn't affect my life whether Mark is having a baby, I'm not obsessed with him, my life will carry on."

She received messages from concerned family and friends, to which she responded: "I wish Mark and his family well and I'm sure (Mark's mum) Carol's over the moon, there's no bad feeling on my part."

She added: "I'd never usually talk about him but it's unfair for me to sit quiet when assumptions are made about me."

Lauren and Mark, who met in high school, started dating as teenagers and rose to fame together on ITV's The Only Way Is Essex in 2010. Their relationship was highly publicised, but they parted ways in 2012.

Now, 13 years after Mark and Lauren called an end to their relationship, Mark and former Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan shared the joyful news of their upcoming addition to the family.

They announced their pregnancy on December 29 with an Instagram post featuring Michelle cradling her baby bump, accompanied by the caption "2025 is going to be a special one for us," the Mirror reported earlier today.
