Liam Gallagher will soon have his own oasis – at the end of his garden.
The singer wants to be half the world away in a tranquil garden room, enjoying songbirds in the woods next to his home.
A rickety old storage shed would be replaced and an 8ft-high glazed wooden structure built without felling any trees. The shady spot would give Liam, 52, a place to relax ahead of Oasis’s long-awaited reunion tour that starts in July.
His £4million North London mock Tudor mansion will get its own 3ft-high brick Wonderwall, with metal security gates for cars and pedestrians.
Liam is also splashing out a fortune for a 24ft pool at his house, even though he cannot swim. He confessed on Celebrity Gogglebox to mum Peggy, 81, a keen swimmer, and son Gene, 23, that he and his brothers had not mastered water.
He told Peggy: “You are the only one out of us that can swim. Me, [and brothers]Noel and Paul can’t swim.”
Liam has planning permission for the pool and needs a certificate of lawfulness from North London’s Haringey Council for the other work.
