A fan of One Direction has launched a fundraiser in Liam Payne's name for a charity which he worked with during his life and was close to his heart.
The 31-year-old singer passed away after falling from a third floor balcony at an Argentinian hotel and now a GoFundMe page has been set up to raise funds for The Trussell Trust with a target of £1,000 set for the charity that help tackle poverty and supports 1,400 food banks across the country.
London-based Laurel Melsom , who runs Instagram page Life With Laurel, launched the fundraiser with a plea to those who loved Liam Payne's work. The description on GoFundMe reads: "For any fans who want to leave a donation in Liam’s memory, especially if they’re unable to make it to any memorial to leave flowers etc. Liam was a key donor to The Trussell Trust and would love to continue this on."

Speaking at the time about the reasons why he was supporting the organisation, Liam said: “It’s not right that anyone in our country is unable to afford food. Food banks do incredible work to help the people most in need of support."
The Trussell Trust paid tribute to Liam for his "compassion and kindness" as he helped them for a number of years and Chief executive Emma Revie spoke out after his death, saying: “We are extremely saddened by the news of Liam Payne’s death. Over the last four years, Liam was a generous supporter of Trussell and our community of food banks, not only funding the provision of more than 360,000 meals during Covid but also often joining us in calling for the solutions required to end the need for emergency food.
"We greatly appreciate the compassion and kindness he always showed to people facing hunger and hardship. His death is a very tragic loss, and our thoughts are with his loved ones.”

Police are said to have been called to reports at the hotel of a "man acting aggressively at the hotel who could be under the effect of drink or drugs". It's believed that Liam fell from around 13 or 14 metres and suffered "very serious injuries incompatible with life." Police say the music star’s hotel room had been "in complete disarray" with "various items broken".
