Coronation Street favourite, Simon Gregson, has opened up about his anxiety after becoming embroiled in a mystery surrounding his wife, Emma.
The Mirror previously reported the Steve McDonald star, 50, could be forced to sell his house if he does not pay back a £252,000 loan he took from his production firm, with official papers showing the soap legend and Emma must repay Simon Gregson Productions a sum of £1,500 per month. The paperwork states the pair, who have been married for 14 years and have three sons, had separated. However, Coronation Street sources confirmed last week that the couple was still together.
Simon is yet to comment on his financial – or marital – situation, but he has taken to social media, updating fans about his mental health. Revealing he has found an alternative to prescription drugs for anxiety, he said: "It's no secret that I suffer from anxiety, I've spoken about it many times. I used to have prescription medication, I took that for a few years but I kind of fell out with it really. Towards the end, I started to feel medicated so I stopped it three years ago and everything was fine, but then the anxiety started to creep back in."

Manchester Evening News)Explaining he'd been looking for an alternative, he continued: "So I've been searching for an alternative and for many years I've been hearing about CBD oil and how good it is." Revealing that he's been doing his research and found a company with great reviews, Supreme CBD, Simon says he's been trying the oil and gummies for a week, while conceding he still has his "L-plates on with it".
Concluding the oil seems to be helping him sleep better at night, he promised to keep his followers posted on his progress, saying: "I just want to help people who are going through the same thing." As one of the nation's most recognisable soap stars, Simon found himself in the spotlight for the wrong reasons last week following a report about his finances - and family.
The report said the actor and "estranged" wife, Emma, had three years to pay back debt from their production company's account. And if they failed to do so, it had been agreed that they would sell their family home.
It reads: "The Director had an overdrawn loan account of £252,824. The analysis also revealed that this money was removed from the Company’s bank account and paid into Mr Gregory’s joint bank account with his estranged wife. Therefore, any claim would be addressed to both individuals."
After the story broke, Simon was papped standing next to a house with a For Sale sign. Wrapped up in a thick grey coat with fur hood and black gloves, the actor Simon stepped out into the snow as he appeared to be putting out a wheelie bin before rubbing his hands together to keep warm.
