Liam Payne's £33,000 missing Rolex update after singer's 'promise' to escort

3 days ago 4

Liam Payne's £33,000 Rolex reportedly disappeared after an escort he was with before his tragic death returned to his hotel room.

According to respected Argentinian news site Infobae, the woman claimed she had left her makeup in the room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires and was allowed back in to get it. The website, citing sources close to the investigation, reported: "There Payne's Rolex watch disappeared."

It's alleged that the singer promised the woman and another escort £5,000, but they didn't receive the full amount. Infobae also reported that the escorts told prosecutors that Liam had knelt before them saying, "I love you, I love you."

He is even said to have 'promised them' his Rolex. However, Liam reportedly didn't hand over more money in the room or later in the lobby. Roger Nores, a friend and former manager of the One Direction star, is said to have arrived to "resolve the situation", reports the Mirror.

Tragically, 40 minutes later, Liam fell three floors from his hotel room balcony to his death. Despite being seen wearing the Rolex on the day of his death, the watch - estimated to be worth around £33,000 - was not found on his wrist when he fell and hasn't been seen since.

A detective on the case revealed: "We know, from images that were analysed, that Payne was wearing a Rolex on the day of his death. He was wearing it on one of his hands and he had it for at least two to three hours before he (died)."

The police have since searched Liam's hotel room and the homes of several people who were in contact with him that day - including locations linked to two female escorts - but the watch has yet to be found. Although the women, who remain unnamed by the police, are currently being treated as witnesses rather than suspects, they have reportedly hired legal representation.

In the hours leading up to Liam's death, it is reported that he requested bottles of Moet and Chandon Champagne, Johnnie Walker Black Label Whisky and 300 dollars. Prosecutors believe the cash was intended to pay a drug dealer.

It was reported that Liam was behaving erratically and smashed his laptop in the lobby before being carried to his room. Hotel staff allegedly made two emergency calls reporting a guest who had consumed "too many drugs and alcohol" and was "trashing the entire room".

Shortly after, Liam tragically fell to his death. Prosecutors have ruled out self harm or suicide, believing he was 'unconscious or semi-conscious' when he fell. They concluded that the singer, who had drugs and alcohol in his system at the time of his death, was either unaware of his actions or did not comprehend them.

A post-mortem examination revealed that he died from multiple injuries, as well as internal and external bleeding caused by the fall. Three individuals, including a hotel employee, have been charged in relation to Liam's death on October 16.

One is facing charges of 'abandonment of a person followed by death', which carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison, while two others are charged with drug supply offences. Liam was privately buried in Buckinghamshire last week, and there are calls for a permanent memorial in his hometown of Wolverhampton.
