Liam Payne's devastated parents Karen and Geoff, along with his two sisters, have arrived at their son's funeral. The family of the One Direction star gathered today to mourn the 31-year-old who tragically fell from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires on October 16.

Liam's dad Geoff returned his son's body to the UK two weeks ago after flying out to Argentina following the heartbreaking incident. He remained by his son's side and even took a moment to acknowledge the fans who had congregated outside the hotel where Liam died to pay their respects.

The former One Direction member will be privately laid to rest in the Home Counties, attended by his nearest and dearest. A wake will follow the funeral.

Liam's One Direction bandmates, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik are all attending the service, as well as his heartbroken girlfriend, Kate Cassidy. Cheryl, mother to Liam's seven-year-old son Bear, is also present at the funeral today.

Preparations for the service began early at the church, with an array of stunning flower arrangements adorning the front door. This morning, flowers were arranged above the archway leading into the church, and candles lined the path, setting a serene scene for the mourners' arrival, reports the Mirror.

A source close to Liam's family has revealed their dedication to giving him a fitting farewell.

The insider shared with The Sun: "His family have gone to great lengths to put together the perfect service and give him the send off he deserves. Liam may have been a global superstar but to Geoff and Karen he will always be their little boy. It is going to be an incredibly difficult day."

Following Liam's tragic passing on October 16, his family released a heartfelt statement.

They expressed: "We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts and we'll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time."
